However the snippets from this article show (to me at least) that just like the defeat to Saunders, he’s in full denial and as a result he’s learnt nothing. If you don’t look at yourself after a defeat and ask why, then you can’t adapt, change and ultimately improve. It’s very disappointing.
Im having a lot of problems with my phone this morning, so ive been unable to open the link, ill read it when i get home from work later today, for now i get the jist tho. Maybe its just a piece of customer relations and jnr is well aware that his boxing ability needs some serious work. Maybe hes thinking, "i was crap in that fight, i know that but im not going to say it." Maybe hes looking for an excuse to feed his followers without acually believing it himself. Jnr seems like a well rounded character to me, surely he cant be that arrogant, i thought the arrogance was just part of his costume he wears for the fights.
Funnily enough, he was using the exact same excuses for the Saunders fight...’he was holding, spoiling, negative, i was the aggressor, I was trying to win’ etc.
I agree thought exactly the same when i read it, though it' hardly surprising as anyone who thinks they don't need a trainer is clearly deluded. I tell you the only people who will be more deluded are those who will think he will destroy the next top opponent he fights.
I suppose after the bjs fight he was looking for excuses for himself, positive self talk, 'if you will.' Telling yourself you really won that fight and looking to down grade your opponents achievment, can sometimes be a better alternative to accepting the flak that sometimes comes with a loss. I did score that fight to bjs but i suppose there was enough room for interpretation in some of the close rds that jnr scored them to himself. But i do agree pal that a lot of jnrs ananlysis of his own fights are delusional but in some ways this is not uncommen in boxing or life as a whole. Any fighter who does not think he needs a trainer is stupid i must agree. I suppose there is a aelect few who you could say after many many years of been in the ring does not really need a trainer any more, floyd is a good example but even tbese guys do still need good cornermen who can read fights, as sometimes the fights and what to do in them, can benefit from a 2nd pair of eyes.
He's deluded, ignorant, in his own world, never going to achieve world level, more than likely going to get beat every time by a decent opponent cos his boxing and ring craft are bad There is nothing to rate about Jnr except his work rate and his conditioning , but that will, and has, only get him so far, he needs to stop being a div and allow people to tell him where he goes wrong and how he can improve Don't like him or rate him at all, so arrogant for the level of talent he's got, at least in years to come when he looks back on his career he'll finally realise what an idiot he was and how backward he soUnded when he talked like he was a warrior game to fight anyone Sh*t it from ggg when it was all there for him on the table cos deep down he knows he's very limited , his ol dad said he'd be better than mayweather, what ever sort of talk is that.... they are like parodies the pair of them Your fathers name can only carry you so far, after that it's back to being a no mark, he's a gym fighter
We all hoped the defeat would humble him and make him gather his senses. I think he just suffers from delusions of grandeur.
The first step to making a change and improving in anything, is admitting your mistakes and admitting your loss. If you are so deluded that you think nothing went wrong and you were just jobbed, whilst everyone else saw clearly that you lost and were even dropped twice in the fight, then there is no hope for you. Chris Eubank Jr is done. Its sad- but as I suspected he is so arrogant and deluded that he cannot even see he lost and has to make changes. No changes to training. No new trainer. Just the same old failed training methods and lack of boxing training. With a bunch of hangers on blowing smoke up him because he hits the heavy bag 1000 times in 1 minute.
Can't throw his right hand straight due to injury. No trainer in the world can do much with that. They,ve always been limited with what he can do in training...so just overloaded on the stuff he is able to do. That's pretty much the problem. They can't change his training all that much. Plus No serious trainer will take him on or being able to improve him much without a straight right hand. Its actually a bit of a shame for him. His career at the top levels over before it really began due to the injury. Boys put the effort in over the years. Great work ethnic...but without a straight right hand you won't really be able to effectively fight on the outside. At the top level If you can't fight on the outside you,ll struggle to get on the inside. He,ll always be a bit too predictable....still be able to get some kind of success. But groves was too big and strong for him at the weight. They underestimated the weight difference. That's the problem but the day he comes out and says it...it,ll kill his career. At the minute hell still have followers that believe what he's saying and he can come back and dominate. You tell them your limited they then move on to support someone else like Joshua. People just want to be on the winning side. Hence the reason he comes out with the rubbish he does.
Work rate and conditioning yes against faded or poor fighters against the elite he hasn't showed that unless you wanna say the Saunders fight but it was more Saunders gassed because of his dedication it wasn't Eubank work rate lol
Got to recognise your faults to eradicate them....he's going now where. Even his dad admitted he lost.
He's an embarrassment. He won't achieve what he wants to because he's completely deluded. He will most likely continue to train like he has always done, smashing the pads hundreds of times and not learning anything. As a result, despite his talent he will always fall short at the top level.
