The Mayweather gym did a survey asking who would win between the two. I'm surprised most went with Naseem to be honest. I think Marquez beats him similar to the way Barrera did.

    Who would be your pick?

Marquez would have won, but he would not have made Hamed look as foolish as Barrera did. MAB was a more versatile offensive talent.

Marquez would humiliate him worse than Barrera did.

JMM was too skilled and disciplined to allow Hamed to land anything meaningful. However, it will be a boring uneventful fight like most JMM fights [prior to the Perfect stylistic match of Pacman]

No way. Barrera's style matched up so well against Hamed. MAB was the most technically skilled offensive fighter of his era. The guy had it all on offense. A dual wielding fighter complete with jabs, straights, hooks, uppercuts, body attack, can fight going forward, backward, crisp combinations. Total package of offensive skill.

Correct me if I’m wrong cause I am going off of a stoners memory but didn’t Naz and his team completely duck marquez for like a year and instead fight Barrera. Doesn’t sound very confident to me and if Naz of all people wasn’t confident, an easy KO seems to be the the most unlikely result.

I'd also go with Marquez. Doesn't seem to be much of a debate, really, since JMM would likely take Hamed apart much like Barrera did.

If we are inserting it into reality ie. if we presume JMM fights Hamed before/after/instead of the Barrera v Hamed fight, then the fight might look quite different in each case.

In all three situations, though, Marquez wins. Marquez was world class, Hamed was not.

Yes, the Hamed camp did duck Marquez - though it was for more than a year.

I believe Hamed's people also studiously avoided Barrera until they believed he was slipping - and in all honesty, Barrera probably was just a little past his bet (even though he was just 27) when he fought Hamed.

I thought it was more than a year too just didn’t over state something I wasn’t 100 on. IMO they knew they were f*cked with that style. And it’s funny Barrera would go on to extend his career in part due to him kinda combining the old Mexican style to a more controlled aggressive style that stayed behind the jab counter a little, brawl a little. His style early in his career was pretty much exposed in that jones defeat. So just a testament to how good MAB was.

Hamed was too slick for Marquez. Marquez struggled against boxers with good footwork. People seem to forget Marquez had 7 losses.

This. Prime Prince is to unorthodox for Barrera. General discipline won it for MAB, he was far more professional in his career than Naz at that stage, as Naz was far to in love with himself to take training and boxing serious anymore. He thought his punch would bail him out no matter what. A hungry, yet to lose his head Hamed ko's Barrera
