Arguello was a great boxer-puncher his entire career. He could box and knew just where to hurt you at least once or twice a round to break you down. If he could land and he would he would hurt you. On November 12, 1982, Arguello fought a great superhuman fighter in an angry Pryor. Arguello could outbox the boxers over 15 corner them and ko them. He could crack like a mule kick w massive snap. I believe that since that Friday night in 1982, there has not been a single 140 pounder in 36 years that lasts and beats Arguello of Pryor 1 in 15 rds. Not Chavez (who gets KOd by the punches that hit Pryor that night) , yeah KOd! Not Whitaker who would be beat to the body savagely and zzz Kod after 10 if not 1 punched earlier. NOONE! :) Cheers. And go Bearcats! March 18, 2018 The punches Alexis hit Pryor with ko anyone since Pryor I believe.

Since 1982, Mayweather, Oscar, Pernell, Chavez, Crawford, and maybe Hatton, Mosley and Bradley.

Knockout victims all. Ricky Flatten doesn't make it to rd 3. Bradley is out in 5. The others all get stoped. Oscar the 8 rd fighter never goes 15.

Good list. Mayweather and Whitaker are the easiest calls—terrible for Arguello, stylistically.

Arguello would. Inside 10. Easy work for Alexis considering styles.

Kostya Tszyu definitely a live chance at 140 lbs. Arguello a great fighter but
was not his best weight 140 lbs and was ring worn and slightly past his best
    when fighting at this weight.

Bradley and Hatton? Arguello would beat them. Chavez is pickem. Crawford. We do not know yet. Too early to say he is at this level. Oscar I edge... Duran moving up to 140 would have been a good fight, but I think Arguello does well against Duran believe it or not.

Good post. I wouldn`t consider Alexis Arguello a Boxer/Puncher though. I think he was a Slugger/Boxer. More along the lines of a Joe Louis. The power/precision was certainly there.

Arguello did nothing at 140. Crawford and Bradley both unified there. Crawford has shown more than enough to beat him; he even shut down Postol who was fairly similar.

With Hatton, it depends on much stronger he is than Arguello and how easily he could get inside. Both would have a chance.

Arguello gave Pryor a great fight and there is no way I am convinced yet that Crawford is at the Arguello level. even a higher in weight Alexis.. And Bradley? I see Alexis winning a decision.. Tough fight but Bradley is not great.. He is very good.
