Teddy Atlas pushes old Foreman

Had this been the 25 year old George Foreman instead of the older, lovable Foreman, right before the Ali fight, this thread would read "Successful Suicide Attempt by Teddy Atlas"

 

Got me. I came in here hoping that the title was misleading or something, and was not disappointed.

 

Michael Moorer condescendingly disparages George saying "He's so fake."

That was a real right hand that laid Moorer out.

And, yes, Teddy Atlas is lucky George didn't kick his a$$.

 

I don't like Teddy and would ordinarily welcome jokes at his expense but this is tasteless and skirting with ban territory IMO.

The only reason I'm holding back is because Classic is unspoken exclusive @McGrain turf - so I'll leave the call up to Mac.

 

Post fight Moorer is kinda like the small dog behind a fence, barking at a big dog outside the fence,
and then both dogs run down to the end of the fence....and realize that the gate is OPEN.

 

I'm sorry, it wasn't meant to say that he actually tried suicide just that since he was pushing George Foreman he was inviting a scenario where he could've been badly hurt

 

Yeah man, I get the joke but as a thread title I think that might be out of bounds...what if a relative of Atlas' happened to be browsing on here, ya know? Again, though, I'm not going to take any action, this is still Mac's beat to walk. I'd suggest maybe a different title, though.

 

One thing is for sure raised in privelage Atlas really wants to be relevant in boxing I think he is a spotlight seeker he made Moorer look like an ass in a few fights most fighters I know don't want anything to do with that spaz....he has yet to develop a fighter he likes to tweak others work and them mimic the great corner motivational quotes of all time as if he came up with it....this was nearly a spotlight act gone wrong

Teddy Atlas is the most genuine guy you will ever meet. What you see is what he is, period. He put his heart and soul into Moorer and Big George pretty much psyched them both out. Atlas was losing it at that moment and Foreman laughed it off. You can see him trying to keep a straight face. If Atlas was wild enough to take a swing then he could have gotten hurt. The second version of Foreman was far more mature mentally than the first but was still under pinned by the same beast. He was and is to this day a very hard man.

 

Teddy always seemed like a bitter dude, but still a endearing figure head that' very insightful to the sport, pushing a man like foreman wasnt a good idea and honestly isn' a good moment for teddy, he woulda have known if he did that to Tyson, liston, or dempsey they might not have handled it so calmly, but old preacher foreman seems like he really found peace and has no scorn in his demeanor anymore.

 

This was the moment where I lost all respect for Atlas....I considered him to be an over the top cheap emoter...and he was so lucky that Big George wasn't like so many punk ass modern thug boxers and merely laughed. GF was so assured of himself that he was like "that poor little pygmy"......

 

Even the young George Foreman would probably used restraint...but would have rose, turned and glared at him. That would have scared the proverbial shlt out of Atlas.
