My first impression seeing this pic is that AJ isn't really looking THAT light for this fight....

Hey, give him a break, he's just following his t-shirt's instructions. Besides, do you have any idea how many bomb takeaway curry shops there are in Watford? How's a man to resist?

This is an excellent breakdown from @Mendoza, which is actually the OP from his own separate thread entitled "What Parker must do to win on March 31st", but since this is the main repository for all things J vs. P it seemed worth sharing here as well:

That's as succinctly (yet still pretty thoroughly) as the salient points regarding a Parker game plan can be explained.

The fight highly depends on what weight Joshua actually is going to fight at....

I'm going with round 4 stoppage though there's a greater chance Joshua takes him out after the 5th.

A lighter Joshua could do an easy demolishing job for 12 rounds..EASILY!

I'm going to assume he's 245 and goes for the fast finish BC I still have to assume Parkers going to invite a huge target on his face as he always does!

The entire myths like chin and speed advantages for Parker are going to be fully crushed here too........

    Joshua K.O round 4.

I'll go for Parker getting stopped on his feet.

If he's RIP, he's no longer an influence.

Plenty of Australian fighters got their first shot at the big time through the IBF. Jeff Fenech, Kostya Tszyu, Vic Darchinyan & even Anthony Mundine got their first shot at world titles through the IBF.

The first two are HoFers, the third probably will be.

The IBF kept Tszyu on as champ at the end of his career when the other sanctioning bodies bailed out.

    They're okay by me.

He posted it a few hours ago, it's definitely implying that it's recent

Avowed faith in Parker is a diminished numerator, hovering at just above 16%, down from a touchstone 18-and-change maintained for most of the first 24 hours the poll was up.

104-20 (72) in favor of Joshua, now.

The only result that is yet to have its cherry popped is the draw - one I happen to consider highly plausible.

 Great minds. Guess I'd better take one for the proverbial team.

In all seriousness though, I'm not just voting this way to be edgy - I actually do think we're going to get a distance fight with lots of hotly contested & fiercely debated rounds.

I don't think AJ has near as good a backfoot game as Hughie, and the rounds are as fiercely competitive as you think they'll be, and I agree, if Parker can take his shots, set a similar furious pace and force him onto the backfoot and land enough of his own, I can't see anything but Parker winning via a mid to late TKO stoppage over a badly gassed AJ. His stamina is still terrible, had Wlad truly pressed the action after the 6th, there's no way the match would have reached the 11th.

Eh, not sure about that, Parker doesn't have the pop of even a winded 41 year old Dr. Steel-hammer (which isn't a knock on Parker, almost nobody has that kinda pop, let alone what a prime Wlad had) and Joshua was still eating the odd flush shot in rounds 9/10/11 and while pretty gassed himself didn't succumb past the one knockdown he suffered in the 6th. I fail to see how Parker, even if he gets more touches in than Wlad did in the late going, is going to finish a guy that Wlad couldn't.
