Teddy Atlas loves the camera lights, and he might have a screw loose . Like his mentor Cus he is crazy like a fox. Teddy knew George could crush him under Queensberry rules, Queens NY rules or the Houston 5th ward bylaws. He also knew that Big George was winning the mental game against Moorer.
He would have taken a swat that have hurt but would probably of galvanized Moorer. Teddy was hoping for any reaction but instead old George, unlike the man child of Zaire, was a mental warrior and told Teddy to "make me a sandwich ". Edge Old George.

I think Teddy had a roll of quarters in his hand when he was pushing George.

The thing with street fights is it’s the guy who gets attacked who is at a disadvantage because he’s not ready. So it’s got nothing to do with who would win in a ring. Street fights start with a cheap shot.

Some of the best special forces guys study prison attacks from CCTV recordings. Violence is currency in prison. A lot of desperate guys with nothing else to do but finding the fastest way to cause the most damage in the shortest amount of time. They strike in stair wells, corridors, dinner halls. Usually unarmed.

Younger George wouldn't have put up with any shoving from Atlas or anyone for that matter. As tough as Teddy was ,he'd have being in trouble. In all honesty I don't think anyone would have the Ball's to do it to prime Foreman .

So Teddy is a character. He`s loud, he likes attention and $ he repeats himself on ESPN a lot, he`s got a short temper. He`s not for everyone. I don't believe Atlas is going to compromise that much if a fighter isn`t all the way with Teddy`s style. So maybe he doesn't get as many elite fighters as some other trainers. Cus wasn't for everybody either. Too much control.

I wouldn't a mind having Teddy Atlas in my corner. I do remember Gil Clancy saying that what Atlas did by sitting on the stool and wanting to go out and fight for Moorer was "one of the best things I ever saw a corner man do" Gil Clancy.

Funny you mentioned military training I was one of those guys in the Army and I was my unit H2H guy my son works at the DOC as a guard in a supermax he is also in the ERT(Goon Squad) I raised him fighting and grappling he knows full well that everything is a weapon why punch a guy with your fist when you have sharp rock when you have a knife why stab a guy if you have a gun why confront a guy you want to hurt when you can attack without them knowing its coming

He needs his brain scanned or assessed for his mental issues....so he has daddy issues and rebelled so what that doesn't make you a tough guy he was from privilege he had two parents who were not abusive or drug addicts...he was a kid who wanted attention and to this day he is an attention seeker he loves being relevant and loves attention....he chose his path with the knowledge he has a stable family to go home to most kids are generational criminals and are raised resilient to stress Atlas never knew....you see he in the corner plays to the camera or the crowd more than the fighter he would stop a fight more for his own legacy then the fighter....he is what we call a drama lover....he was doing this to Foreman in a public setting in front of cameras knowing full well it would not go any further but no way he survives the "streets" picking fights with people like Foreman

Yes combat guys learn a lot of stuff from the bad guys in prison. They’re bad and they’re smart. They know where to aim. They use surprise. They fight dirty. A guy once told me that some military forces study fights in prisons. They only study the guy doing the beating up rather than the victim. And what they learned was that these guys are animals, but they know what to go for. All the weak spots. Bones are broken in seconds.

LOL at "loaned him a quarter". Foreman's nickname should've been Deebow.

Jim Brown was just being realistic.

Well I'm sure someone could've had the balls to do that to a prime Foreman....it's just that it wouldn't have turned out well for them

No BE you are being goofy as hell to think Lenny Mancini was beating up guys like George Foreman LOLOLOLOL or comparing a mean drunk alcoholic father beating his kids to a Dr helping the poor jeeez no one is biased against Hungarians or Jews LOLOLOL now you are being stupid that was a cut and paste about who Teddy Atlas was and where he came from LOLOL but some men are far more dangerous than others and I don't need to have a weight fall on my head to know that Atlas brought a gun to threaten a 15 yr old kid he wasn't as stupid as he comes across but he isn't as much of a badass as you think he is...it also does not take a doctor to know that their is a reason Foreman is feared and respected by REAL people who grew up poor and around tough people in the streets without a Dr Daddy and Model mommy can see he is not one to mess with.....we tend to know our own

thread reminds me of the bowe-golota riot in madison square garden. hbo lost the visual feed, but you could still hear them. you hear george saying to a young punk, "son, you don't want to do this. YOU DON'T WANT TO DO THIS!" when they got visual back, lamply and the others were thanking george for protecting them.

Atlas is the biggest fraud in the sport. Talk about a phony tough guy who has, to his credit, gotten MILES out of his brief association with a very young Tyson. Ill say this, for guy who had to quit boxing as an amateur because of "a bad back" hes ruined every fighter hes touched. Not bad for a droopy eyed spastic. I wish Foreman would have smashed this sucker punching punk.
