    Lewis vs

    Max Baer
    Tommy Farr
    Max Schmeling
    Paulino Uzcundun
    Arturo Godoy
    Lou Nova
    Billy Conn
    Jersey Joe Walcott

Does anyone pull an upset over Lewis?

Rahman and McCall were some big heavy handed fellows. The punch Rahman landed on Lewis caused rapid roration of the head, which is not the same than landing a centred punch accelerating the head backwards (much more damping due to resistance). The McCall punch was more centred and came instinctively when McCall was ducking a left from Lewis, like the punch Lewis himself hurt Bruno with, which came out of nowhere.

Its very unlikely that one of the named pull it of. Lewis will steamroll some of them even worse than Louis did.

I really don't see any on the list besting a prime Lewis. Jersey Joe could give him a few round s by being awkward but once Lewis finds the range its over. I don't give Max Bear much chance of seeing the fifth. Godoy would eat a massive upper cut and be knocked unconscious. Farr would be brave but be brutally stopped .Schmeling may take a few round s also but gets stopped in 6.

I would not favor one of those guys over Lennox, certainly not at his best, not even when he brought his B game. Lennox could punch, box and could get down and dirty without much provocation.

I'm honestly not a lennox fan, but I'd be suprised if he lost to any of them

I would definitely give Baer the best shot, followed by Walcott.
But I favor Lewis over all of them. Even if they are back to backs.

Max Baer would have a puncher's chance, IMO.

Maybe. In my opinion Max Baer is a product success of the 190lb clown era. He had the same punchers chance (or even less) as most of the others Lewis faced, true heavy handed Heavyweights with reputations among other Heavyweights.

Some called a bum of the month club. In view of the fantasy duels which are made here, this is just the appropriate reaction. Some of the "live contenders" indeed look so shitty on film compared to modern fighters. It was an era, where guys like Carnera, fat overweight Galento and 174lb Conn could performe very well. I just want to say that it should be obvious that you can not compare this era with weight classes today or in the 70s/80s.

I have mentioned before, I fully expect to see people say Muhammad Ali was a bum compared to modern "Giants" sometime soon on these threads. Or that Ali was too small. Max Baer destroyed in the first round. Wow! Hahahaha.
