Mariuz Wach by 1980's standard was no better than Sammy Scaff. What the HW Blog teaches you is that every HW era and every HW outside of the Klitschko brothers were useless. You have no other argument besides claiming Wlad and everybody he beat were greater that every HW than came before them.

That includes Sam Peter >> Ali and Mormeck >> George Foreman.. Amirite?

Style wise I like Tyson. Physically i favor Wlad. Many big heavies were able to last the distance with Mike and while one could argue they had better chins than Wlad, none of them had his defense or offensive firepower. Smith, Tucker, Douglas (who defeated him) even Ruddock posed problems.
Dan Rafael believes Wlad drills Mike.
Me I lean Mike of 88-89 vintage but it’s a toss up for me.

 

Haha. Is this the Holmes who couldn't beat glass chinned and hearted cruiser Spinks that you also craftily list? And Tubbs would not beat them, be serious. I would not trust Tubbs to beat Tony Bellew let alone Gassiev and Usyk.

 

There is zero evidence of Klitschko every having a problem dealing with short heavies. It would be a replica fight of Lewis Tua - boring UD for WK. Tyson might go in for some ear biting if he could reach his ear that is.

 

Either Tyson early KO or Wlad late Ko or decision. Tyson is a bad style match up for Wlad, but Wlad is kind of bad for Mike too. Mike could be tied up, and well, Wlad is the master at that and he's probably much stronger than Mike. I can see him frustrating and tiring him out. He's just much bigger.

On the other hand, Mike will not be afraid to go at Wlad all out from the start, something Wlad will hate. His accuracy and power, plus Wlad's sometimes panicky defense, could be recipe for disaster for Wlad.

 

I'm talking about the elite boxers from the last two generations.

 

I doubt Wlad is much stronger if at all stronger than Tyson.
Tyson must have been very strong to weigh 220lbs at 5'10.

It is Wlad's reach, height and leverage from his long arms that would cause Tyson problems.

 

Wlad couldn't 'Tua ' the much inferior Sam Peter , never mind Mike Tyson.

I don't remember Lewis tasting the canvas 3 times , hanging on and running away for dear life against Tua , do you?

Anybody who does life n death with a bum like Peter and gets destroyed by Brewster , hasn't a prayer against Tyson.

 

Plus the KO power that would quickly deter Tyson, more KO power than anyone on that Tyson 80s resume. Don't tell me 89 Bruno had more KO power than 09 WK please.

 

Peter was 4 inches taller than Tyson and Tua and weighed 10-20kg more. i.e. he was a hell of a lot bigger than either of those two guys.
