Browne looked in worse shape than many middle aged men in any local gym. He has had only 2 rounds against a nobody since his Chagaev win nearly 2 years ago and at 38 years old was simply ripe picking even for a David Price. Sparring with Fatty Fury has certainly rubbed off on his work ethic and WTF is Fatty Hatton's role in this dreadful conditioning? Well done Whyte but fook me this was absolute pony again tonight.
The praise being lavished on Whyte for this “victory “ is a joke. That farce proved absolutely nothing and as for his calling Joshua out again, give me a break. He turned him into bambi on ice the last time and nearly took his head off ffs.
Maybe. But Browne was highly ranked. Whyte knocked him out. Those are the facts and what I will judge boxers on
Browne reminded me of Stiverne - inactive and past it - but Whyte did a good job. I thought he was pretty rubbish against Helenius, so he's upped his game from that display.
Fact is, I thought Whyte would make hard work of that fight. He totally proved me wrong. No matter what Browne had in the tank Whyte still had a job to do tonight and he got it done. So fair play to him.
A professional display by Whyte but lets not pretend Browne was anything other than an over weight, inactive bum who had neglected his diet and wasnt in good enough shape to be fighting at that level. Its a shame because a Browne from the Chagaev fight would have been extremely live against Whyte, and that version would have done Whyte
Browne looked like one of those fat Eastern European nobody's that comes over here and gets stopped inside a round or 2 against any British heavyweight prospect in their first fight
Brown looked older than 39, he did not look good. Wilder refused to fight Whyte for $4,000,000, now we know why..................Whyte is Wilder's mandatory, it's either fight Joshua or Whyte, Wilder is afraid of both..............
I must admit I thought Browne would stop Whyte. I saw Whyte as perhaps being a slightly better technical boxer but with Browne hitting much harder. Turns out Whyte is a better boxer than I gave him credit for and Browne is quite a bit worse than I thought he was. Good performance by Whyte, nice jab, nice bodywork nice combinations and a solid defence & movement.
