Instead of fighting John Ruiz....what if Jones fought a prime Quarry instead? How does that go?

Everything says Jones by decision or 'standard 7th round TKO" by cut. Except for young Quarry's powerful left hook on Jone's fragile jaw, when Quarry was mobile and actually boxed.

RJJ would have to win by cut he ain't KO'g Quarry and I am not so sure at near 200lbs he can outbox Jerry well enough to avoid his combination punches Quarry was much better all around than Ruiz.....I think I see a Quarry stoppage

Roy would end up cutting him up too much to continue, although quarry would want to.

I think quarry would actually do better against a heavyweight Jones, who he'd be more likely catch and stun and wear down with judicious counters. I think Jones at light heavy or maybe even middleweight (depending on the gloves) would cut him to ribbons much more easily. Horses for courses.

That is an interesting thought that a 175 lbs Jones may fare better than his heavier self

Not against all fighters of course, but in this case I think -or at least suspect - that the added speed and mobility would more than offset the lesser power.

If Jones could remain elusive enough he could pull it off

Quarry. Jones cant hurt him and Quarry has 12 rounds to slowly break down Jones or if he catches him its lights out. Quarry by ud or ko, Jnr cant win this fight for me

Quarry was wide open and didn't have the quickest feet. Jones potshots him at will until Quarry is properly diminished, at which time Roy flurries with power until the ref mercifully steps in.

Does Jones get to use his steroids?

I do think RJJ is being undersold in this match up.
