its amazing that you needed to write this AFTER I confirmed Lennox was a titlist like stiverne -
sorry to hear that you got an agenda that burned you into writing the unnecessary.

I don't think Lewis avemging the McCall loss does much of anything for him given the circumstances.

If Rahman didn't give the rematch, Tyson likely would've beaten him for the championship and then lost it to Lewis, which would've kept Lewis' resume in the same tier.

You’ve heard nothing and you clearly know nothing. Another post I read after making my own post, also referenced Stiverne as comparison to Lewis in regards to holding just a strap and not being the “man” of the division. You ignored that post and chose once again to stalk my post and quote me. Clearly indicating you are threatened by my posts and have a deep seated paranoia when perceived criticism is leveled at Lewis. You obviously suffer from hero worship and can not objectively comment on the fighter due to this fact. I know you will likely reply again as you also have the sophomoric tendency to have the last word in your debates. Even when clearly bested as if often the case.. Rather childish. But do as you like I won’t be replying again you’ve showed your hand as nothing more than someone who looks up to Lewis the way a girl does to her first crush.
    Cheers

Why didn't Tyson get an immediate rematch against Douglas?

Yeah...I often think.....if Tyson rematched Douglas or if Joe Louis had rematched Max Schmeling and either one of them had a mental breakdown due to drug withdrawal in the ring, would Tyson's or Louis victory be counted as a "real victory"? I mean, it would be on paper, but it really would be more of a technicality than anything else. Like if someone commits a crime, everyone knows they did it and there's mountains of evidence to back it upp, yet the criminal walks away scott free on a legal technicality because a cop or prosecutor dropped the ball along the way and made some legal error.

Holyfield was signed to fight Tyson, Holyfield got the Douglas fight, Tyson was set to fight Holyfield then injured his rib then got put down for ****.

Douglas regained on the contract, to punish Don King for trying to cheat him out of the title, with the whole long count nonsense.

I doubt Tyson would have beaten Rahman by that point. Tyson looked horrible against Nielsen who isn't anywhere near a top 10 contender.

I don't think he trained much for that fight.

Very few believed Foreman or Moorer the best fighter in the world at that point. If they did they were seriously off in their perception.

If he never avenged those losses, he would be viewed very differently, particular because both were by knockout. I don't see him getting the fight with Tyson if he didn't beat Rahman in a rematch. I'm sure it would have been Rahman vs Tyson instead because Rahman was the linear champ.

You know, Tyson losing to Douglas, and Don King trying to reverse the loss could be the moment he went down hill as a promoter.

Had King played up to Douglas, maybe he'd have the winner of the rematch.

Unable to sign the Klitschko's, King put his chips on Rhaman, offering him a pile of cash, far below market value, only to watch Lewis blast him out. After that he offered the public a very forgettable round robin of Byrd, Rahman, Ruiz, Golota. Ect...
