previewing this fight was completly retarted

browne looked like he would have his first fight, peparing himself at the local Burger King or KFC store AND looking like he does not want to be there at all

so quoting some pre match previews is completly dumb too

nobody can expect that Browne is looking like a slow, old amateur ....he was HORRIBLE, absolutely HORRIBLE. from the first minute.

he was decent in both fights vs Rudenko and Chagaev also he was outboxed by Chagaev but chagaev is a good boxer . would trouble Whyte for sure.

We have to see: Browne simply has not the class to fight at this level, and age+body are also not made for this level of boxing.

That is what his black jamaican girlfriend says every night.

Fuck off with this revisionist BS like Browne has ever looked THAT much better than he did the other night. He is and has always been a lumbering, somewhat heavy-handed (but not thunderous punching by ANY means) padded-record fraud whose two best scalps to date were ancient fat Hepatitis-ravaged near-useless Chagaev and even more ancient, fatter, years-removed-from-being-world-class useless Toney.

Yeah, sure, blame his weight and inactivity. Make yourselves look even dumber. WHAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY IS THE SAME FATE THAT BEFALLS LITERALLY ANY VERSION OF BROWNE EVER SEEN UPON SETTING FOOT IN THE RING WITH THE AVERAGE (BUT STILL VASTLY SUPERIOR TO BROWNE) DILLIAN WHYTE.

Just admit, y'all fell victim to hype and wishful thinking.

I'd like to point out I made this post BEFORE the fight.

    What a mess that was.

I'll admit as being one of those who fell victim to hype and wishful thinking. With hindsight the Chagaev fight was more about Chageav being way past his best than Browne being any good. That fight flattered Browne, before that fight I didn't rate Browne at all but he surprised me in that fight, so I thought he must have been better than I thought when in reality Chagaev was more past it than I thought.

Positively disgusting, the excuse making. You knew heading in Browne had been inactive. Clearly from this very thread you had every indication he was fat. It was a biological fact that he is old.

Yet now the same "Browne will smash Whyte" brigade want to act like the mythical beast they had built up had pulled a switcheroo and some kind of vastly sub-par version of Browne showed up in the ring unexpectedly in his stead, and want to claim "but if only he weren't fat/inactive/old!!!! Wahhhh! If only it were the mythical prime beast version of Big Daddy (which...exactly who & when???). Bull****. It was dumb to pick Big Daddy but everyone makes bad picks now and then, we all do - the reason you all deserve to have your noses rubbed in this one is all the arrogant posturing about how Whyte is trash (all wishful thinking, he isn't great by any means, but he was clearly always much better than any of you Browne-hyping goons with your patently obvious if VERY thinly veiled open-secret Joshua-bashing agenda said he was in the lead-up) and how Browne - despite having NEVER fought anybody with a pulse and STILL getting outboxed for most of his ONE real step up in class (fuck Rudenko, hes worthless and you all know it) against the shot, old, sick, obese White Tyson - had somehow demonstrated being on a "higher level", with "bigger power" and the "better chin". Soooooo much **** talked. You all deserve to be pilloried.

Man, i never was on the Browne train, i never thought he would have a chance vs Whyte. I was not sure at the beginning because i only followed one or two fights closely and i think one of the first things i wrote about BRowne here was that he looked really poor and average. Check this if you start quoting.
But i never expected him to fight and look like that. He was looking horrible. Moving in SLOW-MO, his punches are not even on a pub-brawl level most of the time. You can not expect this, he was terrible. Absolutely terrible.
I am still shocked he showed up like that, awful shape, no fighting spirit. Was moving like a bulldozer.

He didn't even look good that night though!!!! Sure if you told someone in, say, 2008 "hey some big Aussie super heavy with an undefeated record and high stoppage rate just kayoed Ruslan Chagaev" it would make any knowledgeable boxing fan stand up at full attention, letting out a low whistle, then asking "whoa, seriously? Who is this monster? He must be ready to conquer the division; we've found a worthy challenger at last for Wlad, yippee!!!" ...but as of when they ACTUALLY fought, no, there was no such fanfare warranted, not even 0.000001% as much. Browne's victory over Chagaev (getting outboxed most of the way by a shot fat guy, then stopping him late when he gassed) is EXACTLY as creditable as Stiverne's victory over Ray Austin (getting outboxed most of the way by a shot fat guy, then stopping him late when he gassed) - no more, no less.

He was always EXTREMELY slow. Literally find me one single fight in which he wasn't.

He looked much better 15lbs lighter vs Chagaev although it wasn't enough there apart the one punch that KOd Chagaev.

I expected the same fight vs Whyte tbh. UD Whyte or late stoppage Browne. It was a completly different fight because Browne looked like utter ****, sorry i like Browne because he is a nice guy and has a likeable personality in public but he was terrible, terrible, terrible. I do not think he was even at 50% from what he showed vs Chagaev. Compare the fights RBR and tell me the opposite, i think i am right here.

If you are including me in this "you all" I am not sold, I will eat my hat when I deserve to - I think Browne could have done better than he did if he was in great shape but his conditioning played a huge part in guaranteeing the outcome which we saw play out.

He was like molasses there, and gassing even at that work rate. This was pretty much the worst version of Browne versus the best version of Whyte, and we knew this was the case before the fight.

LOL, so age, inactivity, blood in the eye have no effect on a fighter? Why wouldn't we hype the fighters we support, it's a boxing forum. I don't believe David Price has much chance of beating Povetkin, but I've supported him his whole career so why would I stop arguing for, hyping and supporting him now? If people don't support their fighters, boxing would be as boring as watching paint dry, because in virtually every fight there is a clear favourite. Why even bother discussing AJ vs Parker or 9 out of every 10 fights then? You sound like the kid with Aspergers who has a fit when his toys are taken away. "Lucas Browne is so unimpressive, that's why he's impressive". There's one of my quotes you missed, whose full of revisionist BS now? lol
