I'm going to Havana on April 3rd and I'm interested to know if the Oriental Race Track where Jack Johnson lost his title to Jess Willard in1915 is still there as I would like to visit it if it is.
Anyone have any info on it?

Thanks B ,I read that it was the only race track in the country.I thought it might interesting to visit the place particularly as I'll be there the same time the Johnson v Willard fight took place.Oh well I'll have to content myself with visiting the Floridita,Sloppy Joes, and Hemingway's home.

Thanks very much R.Strange to say I was having a few beers at the Jazz Sunday and one of my mates said he is going to Nicaragua on the same day and we will both be at Terminal 2 Heathrow at the same time,so it looks like we will be having some pre -flight liquid refreshment !

Was reading up on this awhile ago, and no, nothing now exists apparently. You'd expect a plaque, considering it's historic significance. There's one at the site of Johnson-Jeffries, I remember from a documentary Barry Tomkins did at Reno. As you will be there anyway, would still be worth having a go, at least to track down the area the racetrack was. If you have the time.
