That was the deal. Wilder saying he will only come if he can get in the ring is Wilder’s excuse to avoid Joshua and Dillian.

Im pretty sure dillion whyte would have ambushed him anywhere.

Wilder wanted to ambush Joshua on his night but wasn't allowed so he doesn't want to give whtye the chance to do it to him

First of all no ones ducking Whyte haha he beat Browne he hasn’t earned ****. Also he might not even be the mando so stop bringing him up. The fight we all want is AJ vs Wilder. That’s it there’s nothing else to be discussed. Why can’t Wilder get in the ring and call AJ out?!? That’s unheard of in boxing!

Name me another fighter that had the biggest fight of his career, then let someone in the the ring to undermine the whole show after?

Id say the fury clan would have murdered someone if they interrupted Tyson's beautiful singing after he beat wlad

I hope its not true but business wise, for Wilder not to be in the arena on saturday is a very very bad move.

Shane Mosley did it to Floyd?!? Countless other fighters have had it done. I like AJ but no heart at all. The issue isn’t Wilder undermining his win, if he wins. The real issue is Wilders gets in there calls him out he will feel even more fan pressure to take the fight next but Hearn is trying to milk the cash cow. Eddie Hearn is Bob Arum 2.0. Same **** Bob did with Manny, keep him out of range for an actually face to face

I think the "dread" is the British public will soon grow tired of forking over extra money to watch Joshua fight "plebs."

Up to this point, it's been all "new and shiny." He's been a rising contender. Then he won a title. Then he unified.

Now it's on to the mundane work of fighting cheeseballs or risk getting stripped. And people aren't so enthusiastic about paying extra to watch guys go through the motions fight after fight.

Networks get tired of it, too, because subscribers complain.

And then they have to charge more because fewer people are going to the fights and buying them on PPV.

And then fans start to turn on the fighter and the promoter.

It's all been a steady climb for Joshua up to Saturday.

He can keep climbing by fighting Wilder ... and generate a TON MORE by adding US PPV ...

Or his rise can suddenly level off and then start to go down as the mando defenses mount up.

Hardly taking easy fights. If he was he would not of fought Wlad who is many levels above Wilder.

    Any heavyweight examples?

Moseley did it when? Certainly not after Floyd had the biggest wins of his career.

AJ most likely would of invited Wilder to get in the ring if he wins.

Fight plebs lol. Joshua is out there trying to fight the best opponents, Wilder is doing the exact opposite.

    It's happened a lot.

Buster Douglas won the title from Mike Tyson, and Evander Holyfield immediately went on camera with HBO at ringside and said he had the next fight and was going to challenge Douglas.

Riddick Bowe and Lennox Lewis had a confrontation on camera after Bowe won the title from Holyfield. Lewis stood his ground. Bowe backed down. Then Bowe dumped the belt.

Ali stood on the ring apron after Foreman destroyed Norton and said he was fighting Foreman next.

Ali jumped in the ring after Liston beat Patterson and challenged Liston.

Quite a few come to mind.
