That was shot to shyte Pinklon Thomas. A few levels lower than Wladimir Klitschko in every department.

Thanks for quoting me. Now Dinomaggot can no longer pretend that he never saw my post.

    Always happy to help;)
My greater point though, and I’m sure you know this, is that even though Tyson may not have had a good inside game he made up for it with frightening power and intensity. Many of the greats had a weakness or two but their other attributes allowed for them to make for it.

For me, in terms of accomplishments at heavyweight that is by modern standard (when boxers weigh 200 pounds or above), my undisputed top 3 are:

    1) Wladimir Klitschko

    2) Lennox Lewis / Vitali Klitschko

    3) Lennox Lewis / Vitali Klitschko

After that, you have the likes of Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield in the top 5. Thus, Mike Tyson would probably be ranked in the top 5 from a pure accomplishment standpoint. He did in the end, become the youngest heavyweight champion of all time and became undisputed in his early 20's. And despite his reign on top as number 1 heavyweight in the world not being for very long, he still accomplished that feat for at least 2 years. Which is why I give him a top 5 ranking on that basis.

No way is he top 10 lol. He lost to all the top fighters he faced, only beat bums in a really weak era and even got knocked out by a total bum in Buster Douglas in his so called 'unbeatable prime' lol! Most overrated fighter ever.

Obviously I get your point. My point is that the guys he flattened were not elite or were not peak, and his helplessness in the clinch is a major problem for him if you're discussing h2h with somebody like Wlad. Dumbohelmet doesn't want to acknowledge this. I don't want to come off as a Tyson hater, because he was fntastic to watch in his heyday. However it seems to me that people gloss over obvious shortcomings of fighters and pretend that they don't exist even when they are pointed out with time stamped footage.

Well, head to head I think he's about the tenth best heavyweight ever. Resume-wise he's a little thin by ATG standards. The best guys he beat were probably Berbick and Ruddock but he defended his title 9 times. That's not bad. I have Muhammad Ali, the highest heavyweight p4p, at about number 15 ATG. Tyson might be around top 50 or 60. The fact is that heavyweights usually aren't as skilled as guys in the lower weight classes, and often don't deserve to be ranked in a p4p sense. I think Tyson does, but the achievements of a Robinson or an Armstrong perhaps make his own efforts pale by comparison.

It just strikes me as...odd (maybe?) to see someone rate W Klitschko at #1 heavyweight all time. He was brutally stopped 4 times, 3 times in his prime, and completely befuddled by one of the most unlikely heavyweight champs in Fury-who go onto do absolutely nothing. He only avenged 1 of his 5 losses and that was against a legally blind, never should’ve been granted a license, years after his best Lamon Brewster. He earns points for his longevity and hanging in there and is a first ballot HOFer, but I’m not sure I’ve ever seen him ranked as the best heavyweight of all time.
