Tsyzu was a hell of a lot better than Indongo or anyone else Crawford has fought! Next Crawford will fight a person who can't beat a baby kangaroo!
LOL he need to. He's a 2 weight world champion and fought nobody of note. I'd argue Tszyu had a better resume after 11 fights.
LOL Daring to be great by moving up to a vacant title and beating an African goat herder after his thrilling dominant performances at 135 against Ricky Burns you mean? Nah I'd rather a fighter solidify at 1 weight against good opposition as opposed to going on a bum hunt through 2 WEAK divisions.
Hurtado fought a old coked up Whitaker and still lost. Whitaker wasn't prime stop acting like he was. Hurtado isn't some world beater he never even won a world title that wasn't vacant and wouldn't beat Crawford either. Yes I would say Zoo has a better resume at the moment but I think Crawford will end up with a better resume at the end. Zoo's best win is Judah that's not saying much.
The fact is he did indeed move up and became undisputed at 140 beating everyone there making history in the process, something that zoo failed to do even though he spent his whole career there I might add. After he leaves the division it's "looking a lot better now", funny how that works. He moved up to 147 one of the strongest divisions in boxing. Hell Zoo could have moved up to 147 which was the hottest division in boxing, similar how 147 is today, back then with guys like Mosley, Oscar, Tito, Ike, Pea but he didn't he chose to remain in a dead division and never became undisputed while staying there. he didn't dare to become great when big money fights and P4P fighters were only one division higher. Zoo is criticized for this and rightfully so and it's a mark on his legacy. He should have moved up and fought one of those guys, instead he went out by quitting on his stool and quitting the sport after that, FFs he didn't even avenge his loss to a crackhead LMFAO
Crawford's resume ain't ****. There are multiple guys at 140 right now who would be his best opponents. He's not getting a Pac fight. He's not getting a Haymon fighter anytime soon. He might as well of stayed at 140, and tried to clear the division out.
If he would have stayed at 140 people would have bashed him for staying in a "weak division" when all the big name fighters are at 147. He did become undisputed at 140 and really did all he could have done there. I agree the top rank thing at 147 could be a problem. I've always asked this question but never have had a response, how many more fights does Crawford have with Top Rank on his contract?
Who are those people? Most Crawford haters simply want him to fight better opposition. I'd have been satisfied had he stayed and fought a Ramirez, Prograis, Garcia, Relikh, hell I'd have rather seen him fight Lipinets, than Indongo, or Molina, although I understand that Indongo was an easy unification fight. What does that unification mean though, when the best opponents didn't have titles. Crawford fans need to stop with the excuses. He's a top level talent. There is no reason that his resume should be so weak right now, especially with quality opposition at 140, where guys want to fight him, and would. He'll whoop Horn's arse, then fight some bull**** WBO mandatory, and still not be able to fight any Haymon 147 pounders. All the while 140 has quality guys for him to fight, who would all be better than his best 140 pound opponent to date. Not sure when his contract runs out. Hopefully he had good lawyers, so he doesn't get screwed and shelved like other guys who try to leave Arum.
A lot of guys said he needed to move up. A lot of his haters claim he's a weight bully so they want him to move up to 147. They complained about this at 135 and 140. I was fine with him staying at 140 he could have had more fights if he stayed there, probably more than he will have at 147 because of him being with Top Rank. IMO the guys at 140 should be thankful Crawford moved up now the division is up for grabs because no one there was beating him anyway.
