gutless. Boxing doesn’t need either or thm on this level in boxing. And I’ll be glad when boxing gets rid of Joshua.

A ****en restraining order, extra security?

Wilder: My whole decision of not going to the fight was definitely a team decision, my decision at the end of the day,” Wilder said. “But it was a turnoff when Joshua and his people said that I wouldn’t be allowed in the ring, that he would have extra security and a restraining order and all that stuff. He’s on record saying that. It’s a turnoff to me.

The point is why be there if you can’t hype up the biggest heavyweight fight in a long time? They say they want me to hype the fight up, they want me to raise the profile of the fight. What better way than free advertising? That was free advertising. Nobody had to pay for that. But they don’t want this fight. They don’t wanna fight me, and that proved it. For that reason, we felt like we didn’t need to go.

Because [Hearn’s] whole focus, his whole, main concern, is about another fighter [Dillian Whyte]. It ain’t got nothing to do with me and Joshua. That’s his whole high right now. He’s not trying to make the Joshua fight. He’s trying to make another fight that we don’t want.”

    Interesting.

I think Haymon and Finkel etc pulled the plug on Wilder's appearance once they realised the implications of the Whyte victory. They wanted to exploit Joshua's worldwide audience to build their own fighter and to reduce AJ's options in his next fight to one, Wilder and thus bolster their negotiating position.

Hearn outmaneuvered them. He wasn't going to allow Wilder to crash AJ's party before negotiations were concluded and Whyte's status and readiness to confront Wilder meant that far from being a chance to posture as the guy who just wants to fight, instead Wilder would be forced on the defensive, explaining why Wilder was turning down a career highest payday to defend his belt against the number one challenger.

In the Cardiff pressers or Sky commentary booths, Wilder would be away from their careful management and adrift amongst boxing journalists who would be only too happy to trip him up. All of that careful image building would be at risk, to say nothing of the chance that Hearn would develop his mischievous narrative of being the promoter Wilder should sign with...

All of a sudden the easy win in Cardiff was beginning to look like a potential car crash in the making. They took the decision to pull Wilder out as the quote above suggests.

That whole 'you can't come in the ring unless we make a simpering, compliant pantywaist out of you' strategy is indefensible.

I bet it was a team decision. His team didnt want him to face Ortiz, his team wants him winning against bums so they can all leach off him. Im sure they are over the moon he is not going over to the UK to make a fool of himself. Much happier tucking him up all safe and sound in Bama.

    It's pathetic if true.

Wilder, whatever his shortcomings, was ambushed by Tyson Fury after the Spzilka fight, and he handled that okay. He told Fury "this isn't WWE" etc. Obviously, no one can beat Fury in the art of trash talking and pantomime but Wilder did okay.
Now, AJ is saying he wouldn't be prepared to ever confront such nonsense.

Seems like Joshua is adopting KLischko-style control-freakery !

I fancy Parker to score an upset here anyway.

Wilder would have over 150 countries watching him if he went to the fight and unlimited press to ask why Joshua doesn't want the fight.

This is called getting yourself out there and the fight would happen. Its all fake news you post anyway. Lol

Using Whyte as an excuse or crying not getting in the ring which is not true, as an excuse not to do as commentary over there is as dumb as you are....AND it will make him the dumbest boxer of all time and seal that deal...lol

However did Deontay cope with this flagrant show of disrespect?

    Dealt with it like a man is how. Oh, and still had it in him to show support when he heard that Fury was having a tough time;

Spin it however you like, cite the oblivious adulation of a crowd of soccer fans to justify it, but this is not a good look for Hearn and Joshua.

Many of the security were actual solders veterans that have seen action

Do you people actully think he is a force outside of the ring Do you think he would frighten some of the boys and girl who are more than cnfidenrt that they can deal with him

They had to take on West Ham Fans in the copper box There were hundreds of them
    Here one Wilder Really !"

Hearn wants AJ vs Miller and Whyte vs Wilder next.
Then AJ vs Wilder likely in the U.S.
