A 6 month suspension would put Canelo out of action until 2019 since that would be through May and September. I can't see that happening, I don't see how you suspend a fighter and cancel a fight with the known problem of contaminated meat in Mexico. If it does get rescheduled for September, I highly doubt Golovkin fights twice before September, and he may not even fight at all. Sanchez has made it clear that the rematch with Canelo is what Golovkin wants, it would take a lot for him to risk that payday with another fight vs a top contender before that. The only way I can see Golovkin fighting other opponents is if it is declared that the rematch won't happen this year.

I think the most likely scenario is that he is cleared due to meat contamination and the rematch goes forward as planned. Whether he will have to prove he ate the contaminated meat in some way remains to be seen, in past cases that wasn't required but due to all the outrage they make take a stricter stance. If they do suspend him further and cancel the fight, I would think they would need to actually have reason to believe it wasn't from contaminated meat, which I would think would require some kind of proof on their part. I really don't know what to expect is going to happen though, so far be it from me to predict how this will go down. I understand your arugment that you think he's cheating and deserve a long suspension. I would be inclined to agree with you if it is proven he cheated. Cheaters should be punished, but if he ingested contaminated meat, then he did not cheat and the fight should go on as scheduled.

Canelo gets what he wants. He'll still have residual benefits from juicing, and GGG will be that much older when the rematch comes off.

No one is disputing that an anti-doping violation occurred. We went over this yesterday. An anti-doping violation occurs when there is a positive test for a banned substance. Then there is a hearing to determine what caused the violation and if punishment / suspension / fine is appropriate.

I can't imagine a scenario where GGG fights 3 times from May through Sept, just not going to happen, nor should it. Maybe BJS in June and rematch in Sept.

You misunderstood what I wrote lol. He either fights 2 mandataries, then rematches in September. Or he just fights BJS, then rematches in September.

None and the public won't care, everyone will still watch the fight, I decided to boycott it if it does happen, I'll happily watch a replay on a different date. They'll probably say Oscar De La Hoya needed to go through sex change surgery and couldn't make it to the meeting

Unless it's longer than a 6 month suspension this will probably affect GGG worse than Canelo. Golovking should have kept his mouth shut and not had that hissy fit.

The suspension was not the result of GGG speaking his mind lmao.

Poor Oscar. First Schaefer and Haymon screw him out of Golden Boy’s fighters, and now Canelo is ****ing everything else up. Oscar’s reaching for the bottle for sure.

First off, we don't know if there will be a suspension yet. Secondly, it was GGG's hissy fit that added fuel to the fire.
