I'm not going to merge this because this a) isn't worded in an inflammatory way, b) @GK BOX is a levelheaded poster in good standing and c) I've actually read this is a real possibility. (Spike himself & his team seem to genuinely believe so)
Not sure the Jacobs fight is actually available but Derevyanchenko and Andrade certainly are. I'd be disappointed if it turned out to be Spike.
AFAIK right now Spike in fact is third in the current line of Canelo replacement succession, behind Technician and Boo-Boo, if neither of those materializes for whatever reason.

I'm hearing that Andrade is out of contention for whatever reason and it's either Spike or Derevyanchenko. Edit: reason is HBO prefers the other possibilities. A third possibility is to wait and fight BJS in June. Now that's my preference.

Hell they were screaming that he should fight the guy, but want to see Canelo"taught a lesson" for failing before this fight. For $200k and some free solar panels installed on my roof, I'll step in. Spike will not be given to GGG. Spike is just someone Goldenboy can put Canelo in with when they need a fight. Remember they wouldn't let Spike fight Jacobs.
Bad situation but still a bad opponent if it turns out this way. Would like to see him fight the style and skills that Andrade has/uses. Very realistic fight to be mad. Would be disappointed if it weren't.
