LA Times reports Golden Boy and Clenelo are off the radar since the NSAC filed the formal complaint against the disgraced Mexican fighter.

I agree with Lance Pugmire that the best thing Team Canelo can do now is admit he abused the PED's and ask for forgiveness for fans. Pugmire said this on a radio program today:

Canelo's reputation is done. Twice failed a PED test. It's over. But if he wants to keep making money and redeem himself with the fans, it's probably in his best interest to admit his transgressions so he can start to undo the damage.

He could start by admitting that Golovkin kicked his butt the first time!

We don't know what it is. All we know is Canelo failed two tests.

How the drug got in his system is unknown.

Live gate is huge part of the income and they can only pull that kind of money in Vegas. With months of build-up, Texas or NY can do half if lucky, while Canelo can't sell peanuts in Mexico let alone clean super fights.

Which is why he fights in the US, and US states historically respect each others' suspension (though not mandated to do so). Nope, this fight is dead, and phuk Canelo for wasting GGG's negotiation time and career just cause he's mad he got busted and called out for cheating. Cancel already and take the heat!

Not sure what the prevailing opinion is, but for those who think Canelo is innocent and should be allowed to fight GGG in May- no way. As to his excuse of eating tainted meat, guess what- YOU KNEW THAT WAS A PROBLEM. When you have previous cases of fighters testing positive for tainted meat consumption, and you have $20+million on the line, you get the hell out of the country months ahead of the fight, and eat in the US!!! DUH. That's why I think there is more to it than tainted meat. Nobody with that kind of money on the line would take a known risk like that. The more likely reason was he was on some roid cocktail and masking compound, and the masking compound didn't do it's job.

Doug Fischer had to defend his employer (The Ring/GBP) and was making all sorts of excuses, even saying something like “maybe Canelo was at his mom’s house and couldn’t say no to her food”.

Sports is filled with athletes taking PEDs of some sort, and Canelo isn’t an exception

At the top of boxing, you've access to the best medical advice, nutritional advice and dietry advice. Ultimately you're responsible for what is in your own body. Once caught it is always contaminated meat, a dodgy suppliment, cold medicine, etc, that gets wheeled out as the excuse.

Unlike athletics, cycling, weightlifting, etc, combat sports you can actually kill opponents. Drug testing in boxing, if anything, should be amongst the most stringent - however it may well be one of the most rife sports with drugs cheats.
