Except he has the legit excuse that he can sell 82,000 tickets and millions of PPV’s by staying at home. SOG didn’t have those kind of economic factors in his corner. I would like to see Joshua travel to the US, but I can see why he would be indifferent to it - selling out stadiums for EVERY fight would make me reluctant to change the formula were I in his shoes. Truth is - if Wilder and Joshua fight in the UK on a holiday weekend they could do a UK AND a US PPV. If it’s in the US, it’s a risky PPV which probably doesn’t sell that many, which would air in the middle of the night in Joshua’s primary market thus depressing most of not all PPV potential. I hate boxing politics, but there would have to be a massive incentive from the US side to trump Joshua’s 82,000 person gate, multiple country PPV potential, and 4 championship belts collection. Wilder just doesn’t have the collateral in the argument. I don’t care where it happens, but can see why the UK is by far the front runner.
Majority of people know AJ in UK, every bar/pub has his fights on, so many buy the PPVs and over 80k went to Cardiff to watch it UK is where the money is for this fight .. unless US put PPV in too but does it sell?

It's pretty simple. Fighting in America makes less money as the gates are awful. Fighting in front of 90,000 at Wembley makes more sense financially. Joshua holds more belts than Wilder and is more of a household name, the terms are with Joshua 60/40 at least. Wilder talks alot, but if he wants it then he has to come to the UK (or he can continue to fight Polish cleaners) his choice. Joshua beat a prime world champion, rather than a post-prime, ancient Cuban relic. I still maintain that Wilder has the equaliser to end the fight but Joshua fights better to a game plan like tonight, Wilder struggles with a solid jab in his face.
America will always be the mecca of heavyweight boxing. Heavyweight boxing is more grand in America it's just something historic about it. 80 k fans is a phenomenal number. But still doesn't live up to how special it is when it held in the real mecca of heavyweight boxing, America. Sorry, Brits.

Its a shame boxing is so political, but Joshua holds 75% of the hardware, and the majority of the revenue, so it's Wilder who is going to have to take the risk of corruption and go to the uk.
