A rematch...an in-shape Foreman, with an air conditioned arena...would have had the same result...Young a points winner over George...and an even more one sided event...like Jimmy's second win over Lyle. It was sensible for GF not to pursue a rematch...ever. Jimmy had Foreman's number.
I dunno, the story goes a Foreman hanger on was thrown out of the corner for non-stop urging of Foreman to box carefully against Young, & George was too paranoid to gas to take Young out, though he was close once. I believe that Foreman with his natural aggression wins.
If Foreman had gone all out he simply would have gassed earlier and Jimmy possibly stops him a la Ali-Foreman. Jimmy was too wily to get run over by the straight ahead Foreman. Jimmy simply reaffirmed Foreman's limitations that were first exposed by Ali. Jimmy was the first high quality guy Foreman faced post-Ali other than Frazier - and George had Frazier's number. Prime George would always have trouble with smart, slick boxing defensively proficient guys like Ali and Young. He'd have a lot of trouble with a prime Holmes, as well - although he might pole-ax Larry with a right hand as Larry had the deficiency of dropping his hands after jabbing without moving out of range, something Ali and Young didn't do
That's a matter of opinion, nothing more nothing less. As it was Foreman almost had Young out late in the fight but he lacked the steam at that point to finish it. He goes harder early like he had up until after Ali and there's every chance he hurts and finishes Young. It's no secret Foreman was working on pacing himself post Ali. For me at this career point it was a step backwards tho it absolutely made sense on paper. Results showed a different trend tho imo.
Hey lissen...don't go to bed with no price on your head,..you heah me? I made my point...landed my counter, then got the hell out of Dodge. You don't be no snickering hound an' hang around waitin' on a receipt...an' I know you know what that means, 'cause yer boy Teddy used to say that on the fight night shows...an' he said that when the two of you went to those AYCE places after those canasta games.
Jimmy young fought nothing nothing like larry Holmes you little simpleton. Young was a much more type defensive/elusive fighter than Holmes,he was much harder to hit clean, he traded much less and was less aggressive all these attributes were better to beat foreman(particularly this worse version of george). Also does exist the fact that foreman probably did not take young too seriously and that was why the result of this fight was classified as a total surprise.your analysis is simplistic and absurd.i could do the same in the other direction saying that holmes was hurt and down by lesser fighters and punchers than foreman and then george would finish him where the others failed, plus i would have the advantage in my argument because it was the very best version of larry however the version of george from 1977 was not his best . Repeat with me. Joe bugner was not australian he was from Hungary . The name of Ali was Muhammad Ali not muhamed ali. Your top 5 hws is a complete joke. Saying that tyson would destroy Ali"mercy stoppage " shows the joke that you are taking in count that guys that lasted the distance with tyson. In few words.. You know an absolute **** about this sport. Go to watch football (soccer )and listen justin bieber laughable adolescent
George knocked out almost everyone he faced but if you could avoid him or have your chin hold up he could be outboxed. Ali Young Morrison Schulz All outboxed George Holyfield too but he also outslugged George Ali ko’d him wit the rope a dope. Young, Morrison and Schulz got him with stick and move.
