It is very close. Charles at the start of his reign, Norton about to be crowned WBC champ. Norton aggressive here I believe whilst Charles also attacking more than normal. A very two sided fight ,with both men taking it in turns to get some fantastic Puncher's in ,but neither being hurt .By the championship rounds both men feeling the pace and slowing down. The fight is even going in to the last round. A late surge see's Norton battering away at Ezzard .The result is split but its Kenny that takes it .Definitely ground s for a rematch .

Going with the Charles who beat Jersey Joe twice. Post JJ 2 losses, taking Norton.

What’s that mean? You favor any pre 1953 version of Charles over Norton, but not post 1952 Charles?

Charles prime was 1946-49, and still near prime 1950-51...

I personally found Charles to be about the same 52-54...what makes you think Charles was worse in 53 compared to 52?

Because Jersey Joe beat Charles the 3rd & 4th fights and think Norton would beat that Charles.

Ken Norton the 6'3 220 pound "heavyweight" who arguably beat 6'2 1/2 220 pound "heavyweight" Ali would be Charles are 6'0 175 pound 180 pound cruiserweight with out any difficultly .

Could go either way......maybe slightly favor Norton due to his size, but this could be a close one and I really wouldn't call Charles an underdog.

Eras, eras! How about a prime 49 Norton vs. a prime 77 Charles?

Norton was great vs boxer types, and Charles was smaller with less power than Ali or Holmes. Norton UD or TKO later.
