 Your lack of knowledge on the topic is laughable. You need more than boxrec to be able to discuss fighters from different eras in depth. You don't have much depth for this convo. An out of shape Ike, did to a fit and ready undefeated Chris Byrd in five rounds, what Wladimir Klitscho, (a tall modern heavyweight power puncher) couldn't do in 12 rounds. It took Wlad seven rounds to stop a much more shopworn version of Byrd in a rematch. That answers the power question right there. Wlad hit Byrd many more times than Ike did too. Who has Ortiz fought besides Wilder? Cans, bums, Malik Scott, a guy who gets wobbled by a stiff breeze, and Ortiz couldn't even get a stoppage. GTFOOH with that bull****.
Ibeabuchi was vastly different from the start of his career to what Cokes was molding him into towards the end. Sure there were guys he didn't KO. It's more about the progress, and refinement. Cokes was molding that raw clay, into a fine piece of art. Ike wasn't all that good when Cokes first got him. Ibeabuchi would have turned Wilder into Alabama BBQ. We didn't even get to see how much more he would have improved. He was still getting better as a fighter. Nobody that gets dropped by bums, made to do the stanky leg by Stiverne, and then punched into a trance by a 52 year old Cuban with high blood pressure, was going to beat Ike. That man took bombs from Tua for 12 rounds, several flush shots, and walked through them. His chin would have been the difference. He'd have been able to take Wilder's best shots for a while. Wilder wouldn't have been able to take his.

Great post. I agree with almost everything.

Parker, Ortiz, Whyte, Ugonoh etc are the "tweeners" of this era. I thought about it t today actually. Almost big enough to compete but just not enough. Parker is clearly 6'3'' (at his very best) as Ortiz 6'3'' and Whyte 6'3''.

I said it during the faceoffs that Parker looked way shorter than the labeled 6'4'' joke of a measurement. And it became as obvious as expected during the fight.

6'3'' is small today.

Corrie Sanders was 6'4'' in my opinion.

Proof:

With 6'4.5-75'' Lewis: https://d.ibtimes.co.uk/en/full/307145/sensless-death.jpg

With 6'5.25'' Klitschko: https://i.guim.co.uk/img/static/sys-images/Sport/Pix/pictures/2012/9/23/1348396135597/Corrie-Sanders-008.jpg?w=300&q=55&auto=format&usm=12&fit=max&s=d4822745f07602dc3170ba4c96fdade1

I've been thinking of this since I actually saw an Ali fight for the first time when I was a kid. He beat the legendary Joe Frazier who looked like a midget. Then I saw the fight against the big scary George Foreman, and I said to my grandpa that "Foreman doesn't even look that much bigger than Ali" I was shocked by the delusion of the old people talking about "the great Ali era" what a joke.

Also, my favorite example of this size issue is Eddie Chambers vs Gerald Washington. David Price would school the great skilled "fast" Eddie Chambers like he was nothing.

H2H>P4P in heavyweight.

How about Valuev? Valuev is really a giant heavyweight (his height is over 7 feet) but Chagaev, who is a lot smaller and shorter than Valuev, beat him.

Why is it that in lower divisions when you have two guys the same weight people don’t generally call the taller guy ‘bigger’- but at heavyweight ‘big’ is synonymous with tall and even Wilder, the same fighting weight as a typical cruiserweight, is supposedly a ‘super heavyweight’?

I'd say it's a bit early to claim that guys like AJ, Wilder and Fury is dominating the division. They have like one proper win each on their resumes.

Right now they're the best, but don't pretend that is enough to draw any serious conclusion.

Wlad did dominate the division though. Also he regularly beat fighters over 6'4". Using OP's logic, shouldn't those fights been 50/50 fights?

Or did OP just make a thread about skilled boxers having an advantage

No I'm not a troll, just stating facts. However if I was a troll, you are clearly wound up. You need to relax.

Heavyweights in the past were a lot smaller than today and a lot lighter. It's just plain dumb to argue otherwise. Just accept the L and move on.

Wow, Reznick got booted? I'm always very curious when a fairly good poster like this gets booted, what did he do? Reznick is one of the more reasonable classicists. I'd much rather see a nimrod like Piccolo, who makes up facts and doesn't add anything to a conversation, booted.

Lol right yet I named over 30 heavyweights from the 70's alone and could of named 30 more who were 6'5 plus. You didn't state any facts. You just pick and choose to prove your point. Which is you have no point. I am not talking about heavyweights from the 30's 40's 50's or even early 60's. I said from the 70's to today every heavyweight champion or contender besides the rare exception were/are 6'2 to 6'6. The only difference was the heavyweights in the 70's weren't overweight.

The fact that you just typed accepted the "L" pretty much proves my point. You are a little kid trying to be cool by using slang that your heard somebody else type. You are a little kid who isn't smart enough to check out information on your own but will just repeat what you heard somebody else say. You are a loser, a moron, and a troll. On that note accept the fact you are blocked now and take that "L".

Wlad frequently beat 6'4 bum heavyweights. He lost to fighters below 6'4 and until he was past his prime never lost to a fighter his own size.

But no the OP made this thread saying that no fighter 6'4 or under could beat a fighter 6'5. He is clearly trying to be a troll or if he is serious he clearly doesn't know what he is talking about.

No, the OP made the thread pointing out that no boxer shorter than 6 foot 4 inches would be the FAVORITE to beat modern top super heavyweights since 2000.

There's a difference in that!

Reznick is one of the better posters here, fact. What'd he do?

Edit: I see what he did. He picked a fight with McGrain and flew off the handle at him. Oh, well. Hope its a temporary state of affairs.
