The thing with Lamotta was that he like Antonio Tarver & Glen Johnson he would not be in awe of Jones because he wasnt with SRR so that makes for a big difference when you believe in yourself & fear not the opponent.

Lol Roy Jones Jr power was similar to Robinson? Jones Jr punched way harder than Robinson because Jones Jr was a much bigger man. In any case if Robinson could stop Jake then Jones Jr would do it even quicker and eaiser.

I was unaware that Roy fought Tarver or Johnson at 160. I had thought they fought a Roy that was 50 fights into his career and 35 years old. But if you say that was a prime, middleweight Roy, then I have to agree.

Robinson was a greater puncher and finisher than Jones. Jones may have hit harder because he was bigger but he was also more conservative in terms of defense and letting his hands go. When he went for it, he was devastating but he didn't always go for it. I think he'd be content to box LaMotta at range and take a decision. Robinson always went for the kill.

It's ok. Check out some films of Robinson. Like his 1 punch KO of Gene Fullmer. Randy Turpin, Bobo Olson, Graziano. He was a 1 punch knockout artist with either hand
To your point about size. Yea Roy was bigger and as I alluded to stronger than Robinson. Not necessarily punching power.

Agreed, Jake was actually a better boxer than given credit for.

Not a great fight for Jake.. I see jones busting him up and it being stopped on cuts late.
