    KO7, yet it took him 8 rounds three years ago to get rid of an even more basic & hittable come-forward guy with a worse chin, in Lemieux? Interesting.

    Literally the only area in which Lemieux > Spike is power and that's only a slight edge. Spike is no genius but his ring IQ probably quadruples Durrr-vid's. Remember this guy's first two losses? Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more humiliating than both of Spike's.

    David wasn't exactly going all out in that match, had he, he'd have probably been stopped in 3 or 4. GGGG and David both played it safe, if Spike is capable of playing it safe, he may last 7 or 8.

    Not interesting. You are just trying to make an argument out of nothing lol. Lemieux is hittable, but hitting comes with the risk of getting caught and KO'd. He took his time and broke him down over 8 rounds, I don't see what's "interesting" about that.

    What I found interesting was your prediction that a guy who is basically a smarter, nearly as powerful and otherwise all-around better Lemieux with a better chin is going to be stopped a round faster than Lemieux himself was.

    How exactly will Spike be easier/faster to "break down" than was Lemieux? Enlighten me.

    This isn’t going to happen. GGG Promotions have applied for a conditional program permit to promote an event on May 5 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. They won’t be giving anything to any Golden Boy fighters.

    I'll give you that Lemieux is the most likely barometer for this match up. But I can't look past a guy in Jr stopping Spike in 7 and think that same guy ( also 3 years older, Spike is no spring chicken himself ) will go the distance with GGG even in his advanced years. Spike will not be avoiding Gennady, so I see no reason why he takes all that GGG can land on him when Jr ( not a concussive puncher himself ) stopped him handily. I don't think Spike will be falling over the place, he has a sturdy chin, but the accumulation will get to him just like it did with Jr.

    Probably confusing me with someone else but I never said he's going to be stopped faster than Lemieux lol, just said it would be a similar performance.

    Eubank vs. O'Sullivan was a much bigger mismatch in handspeed than a Golovkin fight will be. GGG it goes without saying is a better fighter than CEJ but he isn't anywhere near as fast. It was a (very) poor man's SRL vs. Durán II, a no mas induced by an overwhelming edge in hand speed causing one guy to get lit up.

    This will probably end up looking like somewhere in between the Lemieux/Golovkin(and Stevens for that matter) and Eubank Jr/O'Sullivan fights. Will be very surprised if the Cork native sees the cards.

    This is a valid point. Young Christopher blitzed Spike with blistering handspeed and unorthodox movements in a way in which no other MW is capable.

    This is true, and still Spike came forward in that fight, I cannot fault his heart, that's for sure. But his heart I feel would be his undoing, and a similar performance from GGG like against Lemuiex ( who himself was rightfully a little more reserved with his own offense as many would be against GGG ) would crack Spike sometime after the halfway point.

    I do however ( being contrary here as I can't recall it properly ) vaguely remember Spike being pissed that the JR stoppage happened as it was the first time he'd ever been stopped at any level. Which would give more weight to you seeing Spike see all 12. Correct me if this isn't true about Spike though.
