I think Parker and Whyte were arguably greater wins than Ortiz. Im not coinvinced Ortiz was a better win than Martin or Breazeale The 41 year old Klitschko was a far bigger win than Ortiz. Wlad hadnt fought for a year and half due to 2 fights being cancelled, lets not pretend he was retired because he wasnt. Wlad had been a winner of over 20 world title fights, achieved far more and was a greater fighter. Thats not in question
Martin turned up to hand the belt over. I’ve seen more punch resistance in a digestive biscuit. Alan Carr could take a harder punch than him. Absolutely awful opponent. As for Breazeale, he is a walking punchbag, whom by the time he throws a punch I could have brewed up, and just to add I leave the teabag to stew for a while. Ortiz would beat Whyte in my opinion. Would love to see him in against Parker.
Every AJ fight pre and post Klitschko were next to zero risk against puddings. At least Ortiz was willing to throw leather unlike any of AJ's opponents pre and post Klitschko. That in my book makes Ortiz a better win for Wilder.
Parker who was lucky to beat Hughie Fury? Whyte who was lucky to beat Chisora? Charles Martin better than Ortiz? Come on man!
I think Eddie wants Miller in America, but it could be Povetkin at Wembley. I think Whyte would be an outside chance. Wilder is the fight I'd want next at Wembley because if they keep waiting Joshua will have to vacate at least one belt due to mandatories but it doesn't look likely.
What risks ? Whyte has proven nothing yes he looked good against Browne who was awful but went life death with chisora and wasn't great against helenius. Martin where has he been since nowhere . Breazeale at best decent as could take a punch but offensively poor Wlad is a great name on record but a huge but was out ring near 2 years after taking a bad defeat in Germany but still went life death him. Takam again durable but offensively poor Wilder has fought poor opposition also but Ortiz was regarded by many as dangerous and even Sum thought best in hw division he least has offence as well Would say the Ortiz of wilder fight would beat Martin takam breazeale and white fairly easy Problem is aj wilder are quite a bit ahead of rest of hw division through no fault of there own I include fury in that as with that sort weight loss time out ring who knows how he will do Be amazed if it's not. Wilder vs breazeale. Aj vs povetkin whyte vs pulev In the summer. Then big one end of the year or next year then it will be likes of usyk and gassiev moving up could make interesting
I can't work the division out. There's a massive payday in aj waiting for anyone willing to step up a bit and take a bit of a risk. And the majority of them are either spending most of their time doing nothing or fighting low risk opponents. Pulev, povetkin...done nothing of note. Ortiz nothing really planned for a comeback. Miller nothing really of note. Ugo izonoh done absolutely nothing since breazeale beat him. Whyte taking calculated small risks in Browne and helenius. Hughie fury away back down a level. The only one really taking decent risks was parker and fair play to wilder for taking Ortiz. I,d say next up,s got to be the wilder fight. Their gonna end up losing out on it. Theres nobody out there atm that deserves a fight with Joshua tbh apart from maybe wilder with that Ortiz win. Hearn and Joshua are right...while they,ve been out there taking on klitchko, parker and takam. The majority been sitting by doing not very much or only really taking small calculated risks. Tbf it is getting better...but they need to up their game. Fair play to parker...lost at the weekend...straight away talking about bouncing back getting back out there asap. A lot of them lose then go in the wilderness for a while taking too long out. Same with breazeale got beat up by Joshua...but got back out there with a great win against ugonoh...they need to understand a loss isn,t the end of the road and get back out there fighting.
