Why did Wilder turn down $7M to fight Whyte to take $2M to fight Ortiz?

I don't know about you, but I'd rather have fighters get paid AND fans getting the entertaining fights we want to see.

Not just one or the other.

These new breed of boxing fans are weird. Talk like promoters and accountants first.

I dont care about brands and all that nonsense. The wilder fight is huge already and many people will get rich off it.

As a fan I just want to see the fight!

Agreed. Weird to me is that some people in charge of making the fights happen seem to act as if it's not as simple as just getting on with it and making the fight everyone wants to see at this point. On either side.
It's a great spot to be in for them now, just make it happen before it might pass.

You don't think Wilder vs. Whyte would be more entertaining for boxing fans than whatever tomato can Wilder faces next?

Whyte more dangerous than Ortiz? Really?

Tell me please who stopped David Allen in 7 and who failed to rock David Allen at least once through 10 rounds.

Tell me please who KO'd Jennings brutally (after Jennings went 12 vs Wlad) and who went life and death vs past prime Chisora.

Tell me please who has good basic skills, fine balance, southpaw stance. And who has average skills, terrible balance and footwork.

Tell me who was undefeated and who suffered KO loss of the two.

Age is the only thing that Whyte had over Ortiz.

He'll probably fight Breazeale, who isn't exactly levels below Whyte.

Oh and it should be obvious, but just in case

Ortiz >>>>> Whyte. Wilder beat a legit fighter and wants AJ next. Hearn doesn't want that (I suspect AJ actually does).

Whyte has no business here. He hasn't been made mandatory by the WBC.

Oh I didn't say Whyte is great. He's just marketable and brings UK revenue into Wilder's pockets. Breazeale will provide Wilder with a $1.5 million payday while he could pick up $4 million vs. Whyte while Breazeale is about as mediocre a fighter as Whyte.

Only thing that doesn't make sense is the amount of money.. WTF knows.. One thing I do know and call me crazy but even Old Ortiz to me is a better and more complete fighter than Whyte... (Not badmouhing Whyte I think hes a good fighter) but and lets not forget Ortiz almost got rid of Wilder.. Couple years younger and it would've been over on the 7th was it? Anyways.. Make AJ Wilder before one of the two gets KTFO by someone else and ruins the fight..

Then I'm not sure why it matters which one he fights then.

Out of interest, how have you come up with those numbers? Whyte isn't as big in the UK as Hearn has made some people believe.

He was initially offered £4 million around the time of Stiverne II.

Hearn has upped it to £7 million since.

Wilder is just after a retirement cheque, hence he wants £12 mil+ from Joshua.

    Whyte=bum to you?

Whyte I feel would and should be the favorite over every single hw not named DW or AJ. And even those are fights he legitimately could win.

Enough with the bum BS, especially when talking about one of the proven best hw in the world.
