Oh I believe he was injured. It's just I've seen lots of boxers keep going through far worse. And how often do you see someone pull out when their own corner is telling them to continue? It was all really odd. It's more people talking about it, not Vitali, that I think exaggerate how bad a rotator cuff tear is. But, the whole thing does make me question the reputation people give him as the terminator.
People just seem to have such odd double standards sometimes. People that feel a rotator cuff is perfectly fine to quit on, but I've never seen those same people, say, talk about what a beast Wilder is for fighting several rounds with a broken hand and torn bicep, and winning.

Begging your pardon, sir, but you can't possibly say that with warranted confidence because there simply is nothing "far worse" than rotator cuff injuries - at their worst. (or anyway not any injury that's going to occur in a boxing ring.) And the cornermen are utterly irrelevant, since even a physician can't diagnose the severity of a rotator cuff injury on the spot.
You think they are worse than a dislocated shoulder or torn bicep? Anyway at their worst is unusual in people under 60, and only occur when people have had prior degeneration. https://www.shoulderdoc.co.uk/article/1378 I've looked, and I couldn't see anything stating how bad it was meant to have been, have you got anything?
Randolph Turphin against Sugar Ray Robinson - the greatest upset victory outside of the heavyweight division in boxing history. But it happened nearly 70 years ago so people tend to forget after that long.

I happen to think the Fury victory over Klitschko is very overrated .. people forget what a bring fight it was, what a low punch out put and the big deal was Wlad's legs were gone ..
Hart over Johnson to me .. forget if it was a bad decision .. the mere fact that Marvin Hart managed to give Jack Johnson such a tough fight in Johnson's prime in such an important bout means either Johnson is deeply over rated or Hart is greatly underrated ..
