I say no but hed put out a decent fight. The naturally bigger man wins a decision .Just a leap to far for Marvin.

There's always that possibility with a bigger guy against a smaller one. And Tarver could be sharp .If it comes its by cut's IMO .I just feel Marvin would see the final bell ,he'd get there somehow, unless the blood was pouring and the ref says over.

I would take Hagler by decision. Tarver was good, and bigger. But, he often had a little dog in him. There is no dog in Marvin Hagler. I see Marvin using his skill and supreme conditioning to outwork Tarver. Michael Spinks, however, would be a bridge too far for Hagler. But, Tarver is no Michael Spinks.

I don't know. Hagler, an ATG middleweight, may have been able to hang with some light heavies.

You don' t have to be spinks to beat hagler it is absurd. If hagler lasts the distance it would have merit

I have a very high opinion of Hagler not so much Tarver. Hagler isn't a big middle but he could do it all and had an iron chin and an iron will. Like Smokin Bert said I believe Tarver had some dog in him too. Tarver is big but he can be frustrated and taken out of his game. I'll pick Hagler fighting a disciplined tight fight pushing on Tarver who liked to rest.

Close pts loss for Hagler. Tarver is too big for Marvin to dent and a southpaw whos cagey

Hagler would batter Tarver, convincingly. There is nothing Tarver could do to dictate the terms of a singular exchange between the two in a respective bout between the two, irregardless of the size difference... none the less likely extend the cyborg like Hagler over 15.

Hagler operated on that much higher a level than Tarver. Hagler would be hitting him with volleys of punches from angles that he's never even imagined before. Would be brutal.

Well Tarver will have atleast a 15 pound advantage because Hagler will come in at 160.

Tarver has the reach, the height, the weight, what more needs to be said?

Barkley had all those advantages over Duran too.
A decent bigger fighter against an ATG smaller fighter. I'll stick with Hagler

    Tarver: 6'2", 75 inch reach
    Hagler: 5' 9.5", 75 inch reach.

Two southpaws duking it out. Hagler early by TKO. or Tarver by UD.

People are crazy in forgetting what a killer list of litmus test type fighters Hagler had to break through to even get a chance at the championship. The Phillie guys he fought alone are all potential pot holes that could all individually derail a career.

Hagler proved his greatness as thoroughly as any fighter of the modern age. To not give him his just credit and due, the benefit of the doubt more or less, against a altogether solid but often times underwhelming fighter....

No Duran came in the same weight as Barkley, thus he was able to add muscle and out punch him on the inside.

Hagler isn't able to do that, he will still be 160 on fight night whilst Tarver will be 175.
