Random question but I'm curious to see which names come up.

Ooh, good question....I'm guessing your Gomez thread prompted this?

Wee Roman at super-fly recently? Looks a different animal to the earlier one, his punch has evaporated.

Chocaltito Gonzalez dominated at straw, jr. fly and fly, but pushed the envelope one time too many at 115. Also Sandy Saddler, who had the height and ventured many times into lightweight, just couldn't turn the trick at 135. Likewise Kid Gavilan at middle.

I always thought Gavvy was underrated and handy at middle to be honest scar.....

I would agree, but just not as dominant a figure he was at 147, if that makes sense.

Carlos Zarate, trying to make the jump from 118 pounds/bantamweight to 122 pounds is a great classical example.

El' Chacal, Rigo, recently fell flat on his face when trying to jump from 122 to 130 pounds, as great a fighter as I personally consider him to be.

Donaire was sensational for quite some time but eventually hit "the wall" at feathweight. I remember people saying he was going to win titles all the way up to welterweight someday....

Jibaro Perez started to get chin-checked above bantam where his freakishly tall, thin frame betrayed him.

Rose wasn't the same above bantam either, his chin let him down despite him being reinvigorated physically, though he had some nice wins still, post-bantam.

Meldrick Taylor was awful at welter and his reach and chin, plus lack of power were part of the problem.

Wilfred Benitez was mauled and out-muscled by Mustafa Hamsho when he jumped to 160. It seemed that he just didn't have the pop or physical strength to keep the bigger guy off him at that weight.

Hatton from light-welter to welter. When his strength and power advantages were stripped away he became less than ordinary at 147, though other factors played a part also.
