I had it 115-113 Holmes. Way more impressive than foreman was against moorer. I think Holmes had the more impressive comeback than foreman

Wow I haven’t watched this since 1995 i’ll Have to check it out later. I remember being shocked how bad McCall looked. Then he came alive late. Can’t remember who I felt won. But it was close.

Old Foreman got a gift decision against garbage axel schulz, got his face mashed in by Alex Stewart, and got his ears boxed off by glass chin Morrison. He only won the title because he faced one of the weakest title holders in history and caught him with a lucky punch while being shutout.

Holmes gave Holyfield a tougher fight, decisively beat the WBO champion and undefeated Olympic gold medalist Ray Mercer( who knocked out Tommy Morrison) and arguably defeated Oliver McCall. 90s Holmes didn’t need any gift decisions over axel schulz.

As much as I'd like to yes, if I'm honest I have to say no, not quite. Without re-watching it, I recall Larry made McCall look bad for long stretches and landed a few of those good hard rights he likes to throw from behind his outstretched "traffic cop" left, but McCall was the aggressor and had Larry in a bit of trouble in one of the later rounds.

    Close win for McCall.

I scored it 6-6 in rounds.

However, Foreman's win over Moorer is clearly a better achievement. He knocked out undefeated lineal HW champion of the world (yes was losing on points)

Holmes had an even fight against HW beltholder which is great achievement for 45 y.o. boxer, but Foreman just made history with that KO and winning lineal HW title.

Prime Holyfield also struggled with Alex Stewart. He was no bum. Don't judge him by the fact that he got so easily blown out by Tyson, because it's not a fact. Much like the Seldon fight, it was clearly a dive, most likely arranged to make money cow Mike look especially good on the comeback trail.
(Tyson would have won fairly easily anyway but's that's beside the point.)

Holmes didn't arguably beat McCall. McCall deserved the decision.

And Holmes didn't need a gift decision over Axel Shulz. But Holmes did need a gift decision over (9-8-2) Maurice Harris.

George Foreman fought much better competition than Holmes did in his comeback and George won the "World" title. Both fought Holyfield. (Foreman fought him first. Foreman actually hurt Holyfield in their fight, and Evander was clinching trying to run out the clock at the end. Holmes cut Evander with an elbow, and then Larry vomited all over the ring when the final bell rang.)

In addition to Holyfield, Foreman fought Michael Moorer, Tommy Morrison, Pierre Coetzer, Axel Shulz, Shannon Briggs, Dwight Qawi, Alex Stewart, Smokin Bert Cooper, Lou Savarese and Gerry Cooney.

In addition to Holyfield, Holmes fought Mercer, McCall ... Brian Nielsen and Butterbean.

By every stretch, Foreman had a better comeback than Holmes.

I had Holmes beating McCall 115-113..post your scorecard

Holmes beat Ray Mercer, whom knocked out tommy Morrison. You know, the guy who easily beat foreman. Mercer was better than anyone foreman beat in 90s. McCall was also better than anyone foreman beat, I had Holmes beating McCall

Foreman only won the world title cause he got three chances at it! He got a third shot at it after losing to Tommy Morrison! And he got to face Michael Moorer, whom would have lost to Holmes.

Early 90s Holmes would have shut out Morrison Stewart and Schultz

Hahah what a bunch of biased garbage. Foreman fought to win against evander and they traded until the last second and evander was merciful With the poor larry that just lasted the distance even in the end he threw up like the poor weak ancient that he was .
Mccall kicked his ass, his win over the fat mercer is overrated because larry always would have stylistical advantage over him..(the fact that mercer stopped morrison is irrelevant and shows the simpleton that you are). Morrison would have beaten old holmes just like mccall did and if foreman could not stop Morrison then Holmes would do ****.
Alex stewart got knocked down twice and then he ran from George. Foreman won it clearly. Michael moorer did beat holyfield so tell me as could be him one of the weakest title holders ****ing idiot..
Funny that you mentioned axel Schultz so foreman was defending a world title against this ranked contender and holmes was making a circus show againt guys like butterbean,or a 137 years old 275 pounds james smith. He lost against brian Nielsen, he lost against mccall, and he lost against holyfield, the rest of the guys old holmes fought were pure garbage .
    Wins over
Moorer, qawi, adilson Rodriguez, 1990 cooney, bert cooper, stewart, coetzer, shannon briggs(robbery),lou savaresse, and winning the title is way above a single win over ray mercer that it is all what old holmes got

Yep ,that's how I saw it .I had a feeling before hand that Larry might take it ,as he did mercer. But at the end I had it McCall by a couple of rounds .But if it had being scored a draw I wouldn't have being shocked.

Saying now that Moorer was this weak champion or the worst really is revisionist history. He was undefeated, in his prime, just won the title from a respected champion (Holyfield).

Moorer could fight. Foreman deserved credit for his determination. He took some shots from a good puncher. George landed 4 punched in a row to knock out Moorer. It wasn't 1. It was 4.

George had his limitations but I hate to see credit taken away where he earned win. That was Rocky Marciano type of determination .

Credit for the comeback win..yes. But I’m sick of certain people picking him over prime top 10 ATG heavyweights of all time. Clearly the 45 year old foreman had a ton of limitations in his game, as evidence by his struggles with B level fighters schulz Stewart and getting dominate by Morrison.

Speaking of the moorer fight....Why did he even get his THIRD title shot against moorer? He got beat up by Holyfield in his first attempt, then outboxed by Morrison in his WBO shot..then he took a layoff...why did he get that third shot? Totally undeserving in my opinion. Clearly moorer could have fought someone much better. Foreman loses to Morrison..And gets a shot at linear title
