Lewis was 36. Not 37. Coming off his career defining W.
Wlad was 41, coming off a humiliating 12 Rd waltz followed by 2 failed rematch attempts and a 2 yrs layoff.

There are absolutely ZERO parallels here aside from being the last fight for 2 top 5 ATGS

This is a old video. It was even discussed on this forum when it was originally on YouTube. I’m surprised everybody is acting like this is the very first time they have seen it.

Cut the horse manure. He was 37 against Tyson and had a year of inactivity before fighting Vitali at 38

Jul 6, 2002 - Lennox Lewis is 37, Mike Tyson 36. Though this fight may be happening 10 years too late, it still holds much intrigue for the boxing public.

Vitali, even with the layoff has stayed in incredible shape.

While Wilder ABSOLUTELY made me a fan in his Ortiz fight, he was clearly being beaten until Ortiz glass jaw failed him.

While I've NEVER considering Vitali the hardest puncher in boxing, it's his laser guidance system that pummeled his opponents to the canvas.

Longer, stronger, and more durable than anyone in the sport has fought today, he'd be in and out of the ring with whichever belts he wanted inside 8 rds

    I stand corrected.

I thought the rematch he would be 37.

    Good shout

He'd get beaten by the likes of Dillian Whtye , Miller and Kownacki if he came back now.. Wilder and Joshua would utterly destroy him.
He couldn't even beat Chisora in 8 round when he was active ffs :nut:

Coming from the guy who doesn't give Joshua an ounce of credit for beating Wlad cos he was old , inactive etc .. yet claims even older , lighter hitting Vitali coming off a 6 YEAR lay off can just steamroll Joshua with ease.

No idiot , that's not being a Vitali fan , that is simply using his name to be a Joshua hater you stupid dirty heeled flea bottomer. :headbash

lewis was so much more experienced and more knowledgeable than joshua its a joke, his inside fighting was brutal and so effective, he would of dogged joshua aswell at that age, he would of smashed him to bits. too rough and too seasoned.

Experience and knowledge didn't help Wlad , and thats what hewas banking on the most to get him he win.

There's nothing Lewis produced against Vitali that proved he could handle any elite level HW. Both of them looked like unskilled big stiff idiots falling all over the place and blocking punches with their faces.
It was an ATG bar room brawl but completely devoid of upper echelon skill and Lewis knew immediately after that his time was up.
Todays Joshua is far better technical boxer than that old plodding Lewis who was gassed out after 4 rounds.
A younger Lewis would obviously savage Joshua but that version against him is 50/50.
