i don't know about today but for example Gerald mcclellan was naturally bigger than roy jones and he never fought above 170 pounds and he weighed 168,169 and 170 only 3 times in his complete career, for the rest of his fights he was a mw.AND YES, he was the bigger man even at 160 than jones at 175

No, you're misunderstood. I favour Hagler, I just think Tarver is bigger, your argument didn't apply to me.

Tarver would be in the 180's on fight night.

Marvin used to often weigh-in at 157 in the days of same day weigh-ins.

Tarver would have been over 20 pounds heavier.

I love Marvin, but I think you've exaggerated things.

It wouldn't have been an easy fight for him.

True, but I believe that Tarver had more ability than Barkley.

Technically sure but it doesn't mean he's the easy fighter to face depending on your style. But you'll have to clarify your point a little better for me. I'm a little foggy this morning.

    I agree with you.

    Styles make fights.

Duran did great against Barkley, especially as Barkley was huge, it was at MW, and Duran was 37.

I could envisage Marvin beating Tarver. But I don't think it would be easy. Barkley was very physical but had limited skills. Whereas Tarver was a southpaw with good skills and speed. I believe that those attributes along with his size and weight advantages would have given Marvin a lot to deal with.

I still come on most days, but I haven't seen much on the General that's interested me as of late.

I looked a few days ago, only to find threads such as:

'No HW under 6'3 would stand a chance against today's SHW's'

Hagler was too small guys he is nit beating tarver. On the ring tarver would be 180 pounds and hagler 158

I hadnt been on for a while. Find it can get a bit monotonous at times

Still you are here to try and build up Tarver over Hagler due to the Jones Jnr fights... Joke

    Ha!

No, it has nothing to do with Roy.

I just think Marvin would have had his hands full. I don't think Marvin could have beaten or battered Tarver with ease.

I also think that Tarver would always have caused Roy a lot of problems.
