When I see de gale it always reminds me of the trajedy of his Irish contemporary in the amateurs, Darren Sutherland. Darren certainly had a world title at 168 in him were it not for his health problems. His death was a total disaster. What a loss.
I think when someone smashes your nose up in round 5 (I think) and dishes out quite a beating, there is surely no bigger motivation than to prevent it from continuing to happen and to give it right back. So for me, it wasn’t about motivation, it was his shoulder.
I know what you are saying. I think the motivation before the fight. When he was in that situation he never stepped it up. Tonight we will find out. He is either shot or needs big fights.
I’ve set my alarm mate. Looking forward to it. With any luck Degale can spark him quick and I can go back to sleep.
Don’t usually stay up for American cards anymore unless it’s someone I really like. Bad stomach upset just come on me though so can’t sleep. I hope it’s a good fight. William Hill have got a special on Degale stoppage @ 4/1 if anyone’s interested.
No thanks....He has not had a stoppage in years, why would he start now? Hope he wins to set up a Eubank fight but i fear its Degale that will be getting stopped
I know he’s got the motivation now but motivation can’t change a lifetime of habits. He’s a lazy fighter. Likes to sit on the ropes and do nothing. That won’t change.
Round 1 Degale the much classier operator as expected but appears to be using a lot of energy earlier on. Worry about that later in the fight. Degale 10-9.
