Two guys its fair to say had trouble in the Chin department. But at least one of em had aplenty of heart. So how's it go? Patterson who put ingo to sleep Or Seldon who beat up Tucker ??
That's why I put one had heart. And if Floyd went down it was genuine ..he'd never throw him self to the floor.
Seldon was much bigger, stronger, and IMO, faster...in a case like that heart probably won't be a factor. I don't know that Seldon lacked heart but that is the opinion of many on this board. I also have not seen video in which Patterson looks particularly fast but many posters on this board consider him to be one of the fastest ever. IMO Seldon at 6-2, 225, fast and athletic runs through Patterson and Patterson is never in the fight. Sonny Liston, in the opinion of many, lacked heart too, but he was probably Patterson's most physical opponent. He was smaller and slower than Seldon and Patterson didn't do well with him. Patterson only fought one fighter who weighed as much as 220 pounds, Charley Polite (14-18-3). Patterson got a decision over Polite who was stopped 17 times in his career.
Fair enough points ,but I see Floyd by a decision here Pat. Bruce had a good jab but I think Floyd s hand speed takes it .I don't see Bruce doing enough damage to drop him either ,which is a bonus for Patterson for a change.
There is alot of truth in his post. Patterson didn´t compete with this sort of opponents. Bonavena is overrated at alomost everything on this board, particular as a puncher. This content is protected I see both of this guys just overpower and knock out Floyd Patterson.
Yep. Little gazelly Patterson comes to the 90s and is doing his hobble-di-hobb like he did with the Johanssons, Coopers, Londons and Jacksons This board definitely needs a retro believer fantasy section.
