1988-1991: Tyson goes to jail for literally killing George Foreman in the ring instead of "raping" Desiree Washington.
its highly likely Tyson would land on Foreman, and also very likely he would hurt him, seeing as the less powerful Holyfiled had George briefly stumbling towards the ropes. Your theory seems to be anyone else can land on Foreman accept Tyson, many others were able to do this multiple times and if Tyson landed that fast left hook or straight right, they are punches George simply couldn't keep taking. watching the Holmes fight you can see Tyson is trying to punch through the man not at him, watch it in slow motion, its devastating power and speed that an older fighter with slower reflexes would find very challenging, its easy to forget how devastating 80s Tyson was. George wasn't a defensive genius, he would get hit and hurt, he was slow of hand and foot against Evander and looked his age at times. That lack of speed and reflex would hurt George against a fast ruthless and active Tyson trying to take his head off. If anything he was better equipped than Holyfield to get the job done against old Foreman. Foreman could maybe survive if he used his size and tied Tyson up, wresting him the whole fight but it would be a clear points loss. If he tried letting anything go his slow execution would invite devastating counters. Now dont get me wrong, I am not a blind Tyson fan, I think young foreman is a different story, when he had his agility and reflexes.
Prime Tyson out jabbed the 6 foot 5 prime undefeated Tony Tucker who was known to have a excellent jab. That Tucker would most likely pinch a shut out UD over old Foreman..............old Foreman did not even have the balls to face Tucker when he was all washed up. Prime Tyson could box when he had to. Old Foremans "brutal " power, where was it when he stepped up ? His entire second career is based on regaining the title from a extremely weak belt holder while taking a beating in the process. Glass chinned Stewart, Morrison and Saverese went the distance and both Stewart and Saverese stood right in front of "brutal" Foreman.......the same two stiffs who Tyson waxed in ONE round combined . 12534 pages of "brutal " Foreman but nobody breaks the fight down hoe Foreman would win.......lol with his wiiiiiiide telegraphed punches ? He still had a hard jab but you could count to 50 until it landed.......his cross arm defense which did not allow him to effectively counter and thats why Holy teed off on him until there is no tomorrow ? Old fighters simply cannot deal with speed, end of story.....they see the stuff coming but cannot react in time anymore.............prime top ten fighters could not deal with Tysons speed but fat Foreman is just walking him down, that is beyond absurd , he could not walk down the china chinned Moorer and needed the 11th hour lucky hail Mary to win. Speed kills and Tysons speed, hand and foot, combination punching including punch arsenal will be way to much for Foreman and he either gets counted out or gets a Ref mercy stoppage, Fact. Foreman admitted after the Holyfield match in a televised HBO interview roughly a week or so later that Holyfield is not a true Heavyweight puncher and if he were he would have been in deep trouble...........he also was still wearing sunglasses because his face was still all busted up from the fight A WEEK EARLIER. Conclusion: Foreman considered Holyfield not a true heavy (many did at that time, they were wrong) and figured the odds might be in his favor to get the win..............Foreman knew that Morrison packed glass and fell apart when pushed and in Foremans mind the odds were again tilted towards him.......Foreman knew Moorers chin was pure china plus little mental fortitude and again, Foreman figured the odds were stacked in his favor. See the trend here.............smoke and mirrors, brilliant marketing with low calculated risks and immense possible rewards............thats the Foreman comeback in a nut shell and the exact reason he never ever pursued seriously Mccall, Bruno, Tucker, Bowe, Lewis, Mercer, Tyson, Ruddock, Douglas etc etc.
Foreman fought a spirited effort against Tyson’s Daddy...I won’t say his name, since I know it puts Tyson lovers’ panties in a bunch. Let’s just say that the guy I’m referring to would beat Tyson 100 out of 100 times. I’d bet every penny to my name on it and be richer than Biff Tanner doing so. Again, I believe ANY version of Foreman beats ANY version of Tyson. Tyson’s record as the youngest HW champion will never be broken. That still doesn’t change the fact that he’s the Oxford Dictionary definition of a psychologically weak front runner. If you’re not convinced, that’s okay. We just have to agree to disagree.
I think with the beneath of hindsight Forman would of put the Hex on Tyson!.Mike was a bully he needed his opponents to be.frightened of him Forman would of been at him right from the off in the press conferences Talking about beating him like his daddy never did ! you scared of the boy ? You should be ! Forman was a master of this sort of stuff despite his big George stuff he could fix people with that terrible stare .Forman wouldn't be scarred of Tyson he would be the bully I dont mike would of handled it may of made him fight differently than he should rushing in to attack rather than using his speed who knows .Apart from foreman the only fighters at HW who weren't frightened of Tyson were Holyfield and Mercer .Holy because he knew Tyson and Mercer because he was a nutter who feared no one.
No definitely not convinced Holyfield could beat an 86-88 mike Tyson just because he defeated a mere shadow of himself version in 97. Holyfield took a lot of shots from an aging Dokes and B level Alex Stewart (whom beat up foreman) that would have gotten himself knocked out by the sharper faster combination punching peak Tyson
You can’t knock everyone out. Foreman couldn’t knock out Axel Schulz Alex Stewart Crawford Grimsley. These garbage fighters would have been bludgeoned by bonecrusher Smith. We already know Alex Stewart can’t survive more than 1 round with Tyson
It is a testament to Foreman's aura, that people seriously pick the older version over fighters like Marciano, Frazier, and Tyson. No other heavyweight in history matched what Foreman did, at such an advanced age, but we should not forget that he was a 40+ year old man.
Ah yes Holyfield...he is Tyson’s daddy. Even the 86-88 version beats the Tyson who is only a few years removed from mugging little old ladies. Psychologically weak front runner, with a complete lack of character, and propensity towards questionable man-loving quotes. Not exactly the type of guy I’d want to share a foxhole with. Tyson has another daddy, who also beats him 100 of 100 times. He’s an ATG and a Pugilist Specialist.
