Mendoza offered him the WBA #1 when Jacobs originally delayed the mandate 8 months before they finally got a deal done.
The shot was there. The WBA was prepared to mandate it.

    Lara was king of 154.
But he is a small LMW and what happened to Brook would be considered a closed fight in comparison

    Guys don't move up unless:

    1) They can't make weight anymore

    2) They have a guarantee.

A boxer's career is short and LAra makes $700,000 to $1.3m a fight, why would he give that up to fight on undercards for 18 months for $35,000 a pop?

Why would he be fighting on undercards for 18 months, he was already one of the biggest names in the sport and a fight against golovkin would of been an easy sell, slick cuban southpaw against an aggressive power puncher. And according to the poster before you he was offered the mandatory position by the WBA, so if that information is correct the opportunity was there to jump to the front of the queue.

Canelo has a much better, much more fundamentally solid and varied defense than Lara. Lara's defense is much more limited to his legs, making him considerably more hittable when he's in front of you than Canelo is. Golovkin has the ring-cutting ability to offset the legwork of Lara.

Lara is not slick. He's a fast-handed 1-2 fighter with a good pair of legs, and there's a lot more to slickness than that.

    A fine array of defensive skill;

We don't know that do we.. Unless he actually fights him. He couldn't get to "cement" footed Canelo, how is he getting the fastest runner in boxing?

    LMFAO you're here again....LMFAO.

What was the justification for Khan, Smith, Lopez, Kirkland, old Mosley, Cintron, Gomez and Rhodes?

Get a grip to complete and utter lunatic, IF Lara had any intention of fighting GGG he could of done 2 things.

    1. Actually get his promoter/management to actually contact Loeffler.

    2. Maybe move up to 160?

How old was Canelo when he fought those guys?

Get a grip about what? You're the one spazzing out as always.

Lara has been begging GGG for a fight. The A side chooses and makes the offer. Not sure why your rambling about Lara needing to make GGG an offer. Ridiculous.

So allegedly according to you only so called "A sides" make offers?

It wasn't up to GGG to contact a 154lb fighter on the off chance he may move up, especially a fighter with little fan base.

Lara tweeted enough about the fight, why not use a phone and contact his management to get the ball rolling?

You need to get a grip because you have been like some scorned women since Canelo FAILED HIS drug test and consequently PULLED OUT OF the fight.

Since then you have gone into any thread to do with GGG running what amounts to your version of damage limitation....are you ODLH?

It was Mendoza after the first negotiation deadline was approaching.
He said in an interview that the WBA LMW Champ and GGG would be allowed to pay step aside $$$ to Jacobs while fulfilling the mandate, extending Jacobs regular title for 12 more months, and giving the WBA MW title more crediblility since Jacobs first mandate was contended by Monroe.
I also remember reading Mendoza explaining that WBA SMW titlist Chudinov could as well.

    Crickets from every direction.
Jacobs then got an extension, then another before finally getting K2/GGG to allow for the 3 exemptions/PEDS, and the 30% split
