Foreman (and Marciano) threads always prompt too many insults here, for some reason.
    Anyway...
I think Dempsey loses to young Foreman.
I think Dempsey beats old Foreman.
I know some hate it when we separate the two Foreman careers, but they really were chalk and cheese.

Jack dempsey is one of my favourite fighters but i am not sure that he could beat even the 1990 version of foreman.
Jack could move around in circles yes but at the end of the day he would trade blows yes or yes it was the nature of dempsey.foreman could be 40 but still he was much much bigger, stronger, got a much better chin, hits harder and he did not get tired for 12 rounds so tell me how would dempsey win this? 1990 foreman was still much better than jess willard.it is all about styles if you ask me about fast durable stylists then yes they could out point this version of george but fighters who liked going to the war would get stopped by george

Surely we have to concede Demosey has to alter his style massively in this fight if he wants to have success. He's a more elusive target than anyone Foreman fought, but if Foreman doesn't have to go looking for him, there's no way I could favour him in this one. If he came in Willard style, he'd do well to make it to the second half of the fight.

Dempsey should win this matchup, George clearly has a punchers chance but look how Holyfield dominated him and Holy isn't any bigger than Dempsey. Moorer also dominated him before getting cracked.

I'd be surprised to see Dempsey stop Big George but he should cruise to a huge points victory.

Excellent question & again I would love to see this fight. Dempsey had more speed but Foreman was also a powerhouse. Replace Firpo with Foreman & we would have more of a Foreman/Lyle fight than a Dempsey -Willard. If we replace Lyle with Dempsey it may be Jack who finishes on top. Both men can be hit, both men would not hide,& both men walking forward. It would be a war

No....dempse y takes out young foreman who could be hit rather easilly...not so dempsey...and no JiJimmy young could ever deck Dempsey or any version of Ali dominate him....I guess Jimmy young was one of the greats !!

Holyfield was not bigger? Dempsey was 6'1 and weighed 188 pounds. Evander was 6'2 1/2 and weighed 209 against foreman.he was bigger than dempsey and was a gym rat too so probably was stronger too

Bigger is a variable though isn't it.

Look at the careers of Bernard Hopkins and Guillermo Jones, sometimes Hopkins was the bigger man, sometimes Jones was the bigger man.

Holyfield had no issues weighing below 190 and I've no doubt Dempsey could bulk up of he so desired.

The fact is that holyfield was bigger vs foreman than dempsey ever was in the ring.it is irrelevant how he could be

    Why is it irrelevant?
Holyfield was bigger Vs Foreman than he ever was as a CW.

Yes but it actually happened.. Dempsey never was like that so you are talking about speculation.

The whole thread is speculating. I don't understand what point you're trying to make.
