Here's the thing with that. Yeah, it has been a known problem. I admit that. But someone of Canelos stature and resorces should know better. His team have been butchers and have owned meat markets. They should know better. There have been countless warnings. If it was the meat or he intentionally took it makes no difference. It was in his body and there is zero tolerance.

I don't disagree with one word you just posted.

My only issue is with those close-minded individuals who act as if there's no possibility the positive results may have been due to contaminated meat.

So just to be clear we’re this Golovkin who’d tested positive you’d be giving him the same treatment?
Just to be sure on this I wouldn’t

if,"it is known", then shouldnt the professional fighter whos job is to avoid ingesting contaminated food, and who can afford to eat anything, from any part of the world, take full responsibility for his failure to remain clean?

They are all serving bans due to PED abuse.

And my issue is the exact opposite. The Canelo fans who don't believe it could have been from him actually using PEDs given the resources and knowledge his team have about the widely known tainted meat issue in Mexico.

It depends on the situation. The "tainted meat" excuse might be a little more suspect coming from GGG don't you think?

And just for the record 3G is my favorite fighter.

I've yet to see any Canelo fan who claims he is absolutely innocent. If you can quote one of them(myself included) claiming this I'd be more than curious to know who it is.

6 months ? 1 year 2 years me personally I hope it's around a year and a half. Not because I think he deserves it it's ggg has to get his mind over this whole canelo drama . The wbc ibf and wba are having their conference today on how they will go about enforcing golovkins mandatory . I'm a golovkin fan I care about his legacy he's my favourite fighter. I think him unifying with saunders is most important. Then defending against charlo and derevychenko after then retire forget canelo he's to much drama . And come on ggg isn't going to vacate a belt to avoid charlo or derevychenko

Well according to Bob Bennett of NSAC when discussing Luis Ortiz's previous ban, a first time failed test for a steroid is 1 year.

But Clenbuterol isn't technically a steroid but a steroid like substance, if Canelo appeals a 1 year ban he could likely get away with a 9 month or even a 6 month ban.

Luis Ortiz only served a 9 month ban for his first doping offence. James Toney had his original 1 year ban after the Ruiz fight halved on appeal to 6 months.

I don't think it will be a lengthy ban, doping in US boxing is often white washed over and bans tend to be on the lenient side.

You are best asking Oscar how long he wants him banned for. It should be a year but i bet hes fighting again by September.

1 year ban minus 6 months for good behavior. US slap on the wrist type ban.
