Michael Spinks where does he rank all time at 175

Aye there's always a dynamic viewpoint when rating current fighters.

For me I think Kovalev does well against pretty much every LHW in history. If he lost his next fight I'd have to reconsider of course but for now I reckon he's one of the best ever to lace em up in the division.

 

I like your style. Takes some balls to rate current fighters in an all-time list. Many fans (and I admit the knowledge base of the guys on this forum really puts me in the shade) refuse to do so. I have no problem with you rating Kovalev. But that's pretty high, my friend.

 

What's your top ten?

I did use to care enough to passionately defens my rankings but now I'm past the point of changing the way I view past fighters, just present fighters.

Everyone should have different lists otherwise what would be the point.

 

I've probably spent close to 10 years adjusting rankings based on all sorts and it just bored me, ultimately the only thing I'm bothered about now is winnability and how I see someone doing against a field of their peers. Once I had my base of the list I then felt more comfortable adding current fighters who I felt had performed well enough in their careers to merit consideration.

As I said, it's dynamic and can change with each passing fight.

My thoughts exactly. ie: (at the specified weight), I think he would beat most below him on my list, and he would lose to most below him. Best way to rank, I think.

 

Best way my man, getting caught in resume ain't something I enjoy, but watching a fighting and guessing how it will go is something I do enjoy.

 

Of course the wildcard here is Mr Greb

 

None of us have ever seen him fight, but Im delighted you chose Greb in your top 10 because his resume is off the charts. He's a fascinating and plausible choice.

 

I think he meant to say he was banned for having an unpopular opinion.
There is no way any admin is likely to be petty & irrational & do this.
But Combates has been a mean, petty name caller for a long time.
He was the only person I complained about, due to what he was doing to others, constantly insulting people & atticking them personally for a mere difference of opinion, even for starting an innocuous thread.

Though there are still absurd page long personal feuds, this place has gottn better.
I hope it can stay away from the infantile & vicious undermining the peace & quality of the website.

 

Spinks is certainly top 5 for me, maybe even top 3, but every list I have has one constant, Charles as no. 1. I can see no other way.
