That’s got no relevance to what I said. I simply said no one can believe Hearn on these figures. He doesn’t release PPV numbers.
So that means he must be lying? You need to come up with something better than that. First the offer is less than 20% based on unconfirmed revenues of $80-$100 mil and its a lowball offer. When the promoter of the event then says revenue would be $40-$60 mil which means Wilders offer becomes 31% it means Hearn must be lying. You cant choose which figures to believe to suit your agenda. If what Hearn has said cant be trusted then I don't see how the $80 - $100 mil number can be taken as accurate either.
Hey I'm a Liverpool fan can we please not talk about bids for Mo Salah. I'm hoping we turn off all fax machines and internet connections this summer I guess I just have a bit of faith that Hearn and Joshua will eventually make an offer good enough for Wilder to accept. They hold a lot of the cards so I'm sure they will want a favourable deal. I just don't see how boxing fans can complain about Joshua when you consider the fights he's made in his relatively short career so far. And they don't seem to be hanging about after the Parker fight. As you can probably guess I would want Joshua to win, but I wouldn't want to see Wilder get mugged off and paid less than he's worth. I give Wilder some stick but the comments he made about him and Ortiz fighting for their daughters were top class, especially when you consider the story behind it. Win, lose or draw I hope he makes good money to take care of his family.
It's been reported that AJ/Wlad did 1.5 mill buys at 19.95 per buy that's the $40 mill figure that Hearn has been quoted as saying. While SKY doesn't release actual numbers whenever the record is broken it always seem to be reported. For the larger numbers being bandied about were to happen they'd have to sell 3 mill SKY PPV's which won't happen or the US has to do 700K PPV's which also seems unlikely as neither is PPV draw in the US and I don't know anyone who did that much on their PPV debut.
Joshua is a PPV fighter in the U.K. Wilder vs Ortiz was free on Sky. Therefore Wilder is not a PPV fighter. The End.
I completely agree and feel the same way, everyone who is saying just take any offer because it's more, are being purposely obtuse due to dislike of boxer. It's ridiculous, it's not a good offer. No flat fee offer for a fight of this magnitude is a good offer nor a realistic one. The deal is "already" favorable to Joshua, what Hearn is doing is simply propaganda. Basically, this is what Hearn is saying: "Look, we're giving Wilder a high payday and he doesn't want the fight, we tried". Knowing damn well that a flat fee for the biggest HW fight in 10 plus years is gonna generate an unbelievable amount. You don't have to like Wilder to understand this is a raw deal.
This is the reason why Hearn denied Wilder the face off in the ring. He wants full control over what is fed to the casual matchroom fans. Wilder in the ring with the mic, uncensored, would have totally blown Hearn’s agenda to pieces. It’s been so predictable from day one of these “negotiations” that Hearn will prevent the fight by lowballing Wilder and then blaming him or Shirley Winkle.
When the haterz are hating as hard as this, I love it. I go to bed with a big smile on my face and I dream of salty hater tears. AJ is the king, Deontay is a peasant - sit down boy.
It's up to Wilder if he takes a $12.5 million flat fee or declines it. It makes no difference to me. People say Wilder needs the fight more than Hearn and AJ, and they call the shots because AJ can make big money elsewhere .... that's true .... but Wilder can gamble on things changing. It only takes a couple of things to happen and AJ and Hearn might come begging to Wilder. Seriously, neither of these "champions" is unbeatable. They could easily be upset by some other challenger. AJ's a cash cow right now and has 3 major belts but that could change too. AJ and Hearn have the most power right now but people shouldn't overestimate that.
AJ v Wilder is a PPV fight the world over. how hard can it be to promote a fight for a undisputed heavyweight champion ? A transatlantic 7 city promo tour similar to what Mayweather and mcgregor did will be enough for this to be a over million buy PPV in both the US and the UK
