UFC 225 Whitaker Vs Romero 2

He won't improve cardio so unless Whittaker gets buzzed early he should win on points or late stoppage

 

Romero was throughly dominated by a gimp the first time. He doesn't see 5 rounds against a healthy Bobby Knuckles.

 

Maybe not but it was a clear win and Whittaker was fighting with an obvious handicap. Healthy he dominates and probably stops Romero. Whittaker is a special talent and in his prime.

 

I had Whittaker taking 4 rounds. He nearly completely shut down Romero's TD gameplan and outstruck him on the feet, hurting him several times down the stretch.

 

Most scores I've seen, including mine, were 3-2. The drama was high after round 4, because the fight was even. Whittaker decisively won the 5th.

 

I see Whitaker winning again unless Romero can explode with something spectacular within the first 2 rds.

 

I think that first fight was about as good as Romero's cardio will ever be. Whitaker is a tough match up for him, but his unorthodox style is also a tough match for Whitaker. Romero will need to win by KO, sub. The man was so tired in the fifth round, that when he slipped and fell to the canvas, he didn't have the energy to even get up, and Whitaker took the top position immediately, sealing the deal. Unfortunately for Romero championship fights are five rounds now. Whitaker would be wise to be active and not let Romero coast.
