    Another great post.

Although Anthony is the A side, Wilder is currently in a position of power.

But he doesn’t bring them does he. Not really. He’s not going to be bringing the US money. If he was, he’d be making the big US dollars already.

If it’s US PPV then fair enough, but we know that’s not going to be the case. Joshua’s fights are already aired in the states, and do ok, considering the afternoon times for the fight. Wilder’s fights do better, but they’re not PPV and they’re also prime time.

Honestly, this fight will not happen next. Hopefully there’s a compromise and it does happen next, but really, this is likely to get drawn out.

Of course they are mate. People now focus on much on the business side of things, this ain't a business studies forum though, it's a boxing forum.

Way back when fighters snatched the hand off the champ to be given at shot at the number 1 fighter. I long for those days again. The idea of "I don't wanna fight the number 1 cos I won't get paid my fair share" doesn't really sit well with me.

Why does anyone outside of Team Wilder care about his pay anyways? Surely we all want the same thing, the fight to take place. Once he's the number 1 he can start dictating terms to people.

Nobody is disputing the above. But Wilder is also in a position of power.

    Joshua needs to fight him.

He craves that last remaining belt.

    He craves a 'Super-fight'

Hearn also craves it as a businessman.

He risks losing the fight then.. Plus Fury may come back on the scene and AJ would most likely focus on that...

At this stage, he's not risking anything.

Fury isn't coming back anytime soon. And realistically, he's going to need a few fights before having a fight of that magnitude.

If your plan B is a $1.5 million fight vs. Brezeale then you're not in a position of power.

He can take fights like that.

They can go their separate ways for now.

Anthony can go and fight Povetkin. Afterwards, he'll just crave the Wilder fight even more.

Wilder will always be in a position of power, as long as he has something that Hearn and Anthony both want and need.

How much do they have to pay Povetkin in step aside money?

Mr L, been reading and thinking about this offer for a couple of days and I understand what you're saying and from Finkles point of view.. absolutely, he is going to drive to get the best deal possible just like Hearn will on AJ's side.

One thing I do have slight issue with is US PPV and I'm on Wilders side here if that flat fee include US PPV.

I believe Wilder should get a flat fee from all the things UK side, UK PPV, ticket sales and everything else but he should get (or has a strong case) for a large slice (percentage) of the US PPV.

I believe that would be fair.

He's not really though is he, as Joshua could dump all of his belts and still take on anyone else in the division and generate the same type of revenue regardless. That would leave Wilder going through the alphabet soup of the new belt owners trying to pick up the vacant belts and having to overpay opponents, which he and his team don't have the financial clout to be able to do.

It doesn't matter, Wilder still needs to want the fight. If a deal can be made it offsets the mandatory so they don't need to pay step aside money!

Clearly Wilder is balking to the point that Joshua is now offering to take 50% if it's a 100 Million dollar fight..

Of course that's not the case but clearly Wilder does not think he can win! What is the end result of that in the boxing world is not giving the fans the fight and showing his true character which has always been a loud mouth who pretends he's fighting the best.

His fan club defending him yet again bc they are fake boxing fans there's no other

way to put it ! :eatingburger

If Hearn really ...really wants the fight to happen he knows what he has to do. He's not stupid , but you are , which is why you believe everything he says.

If it is 8 times more than low offer or not, it cant be that bad and if it is about legacy than Wilder has it all to gain and if he wins can be in the drivers seat for a return
