Just seems like Roy didn't face many big punches

Gerald McCellan is the first name that springs to mind but that was not in Roy`s control. There was one other fighter that had some serious pop at `175 {his name escapes me} but Reggie Johnson KO`d him. Jones was gonna fight him.

a little. he handpicked a bit, and Floyd took it to another level of waiting for guys to get old..

Right because a prime Hopkins and Toney couldn't punch at all .

He did duck them but I still feel he would of beaten anyone in his divisions in his prime, Roy was just safety first and that`s a shame and a waste.

Roy needed those fights to make his name, after he beat Toney he was thrust to the top alongside Whitaker as the pound for pound best that would never have happened had Roy fought lesser champions, once Roy got to the top and could command more money he became safety first.

If Gerald fought like he did v Benn he would have toyed with by Roy! In that fight he had no defense and was confused by Benn getting under most of his shots, having said that Roy lost to Gerald in the amateurs and vowed never to fight him in the pro ranks!

I think so also. He knew exactly when to fight guys. A little past the prime etc. I always compared it to when Cotto fought Margarito 2.. Margarito looked as good but was not, and that is when Floyd would have fought Margarito..

He would of had to if Gerald had not been struck with that injury. If Roy had ducked Gerald it would have hurt his legacy

Very true. Not dissimilar to what Floyd did after beating De La Hoya.

They were solid punchers. They could hurt you but neither really depended on power.

if you are criticising a middleweight for going up to HEAVYWEIGHT and not fighting punchers, then you know you have an agenda.
