Terrible fight better than Muniga on par with Spike. Martiroysan has failed on nearly every step he is a gatekeeper now

Very unlikely, So what if the poor opponent fails a drug test? Are you saying he should avoid top fighters in case they pop dirty?

A few years ago, this would have been OK assuming Vanes was moving up organically.

But he isn't so it isn't. He's been out of action for a while and is here for GGG to look dominant again. Look we all know WHY this fight is being made and not a dangerous, and it sucks. They're waiting for the Sept Canelo fight so won't take a risk here. It's lame.

Although once upon a time Shockmaster said Vanes would be GGG's best win so I guess he'll be happy with this at least

I had the rematch a draw, there was a BS point deduction for a low blow on Vanes and I had one round even, the rest of the RBR most were saying it was a solid irrefutable dominant win for Lara, and they all scored it 115-112. Granted I was in a terrible mood after Charlo got a gift against Trout, and Pinoy scored it as wide for Trout as I did, so either we're both crazy, or of the few that actually knew what we were watching. Its the latter.:D

This fight is ok if -

    A) He forgets about Canelo and takes the reins of his own career
    B) Sets up a fight with Dchenko once the Vanes fight is over
    C) Fights Billy Joe Saunders.

B & C can be switched , but that the gist of it. Its time for him to let go of Canelo to go forth and forge his own destiny.

Couldn't agree more. This dancing to Canelo's beat business is nauseating

The idea is fighting in May and returning in September to face Clenelo, BJS or Derevyanchenko, so the IBF should sit the feck down and understand there's not satisfying solution on 3 weeks notice.

It's madness that the IBF may strip GGG for fighting Martirosyan on May 5 but not having a problem with Canelo for the same date? Even more so: they seem to be okay with GGG postponing the Canelo fight for September and sit out the rest, but NOT okay with him taking a tune-up beforehand?

I don't understand the IBF's logic here. How come they never pulled Derevyanchenko out of their a$$ during the GGG-Clen II negotiations but threaten NOW, when in fact not GGG but Canelo created this mess?

I was hoping for a top 10 middle weight, if not at least a middle weight not a 154lber who has lost 2 of his last 3 fights.

Utterly pointless fight imo i don't understand why they don't just fight Derevchenko, or fight Saunders in june.

The fight was thrown into jeopardy at the beginning of March so they had two months to arrange a decent stand in opponent. There's no reason why they couldn't have used this opportunity to fulfill their IBF mandatory requirement , or at least had him on stand- by in the case of Canelo being unavailable , which turned out to be the case. Either way they should have known the fight was canned the minute the results came back negative and prepared accordingly.

They gave Fury a week to schedule a fight Glaskov and then quickly stripped him because he was locked into a rematch with Wlad so worse incidents have already taken place when it comes to the IBF.
Its been two years since GGG faced an IBF mandatory. If he can fight Vanes , why can't he fight Dchenko? The situation exposed the IBF and their corrupt rules more than anything else.
But it exposes GGG as being a ducker as well since there's no reason why they can't push the date back a few weeks in order to make the Dchenko fight and satisfy is mandatory obligation.
He's using Cinco de mayo as an excuse not to reschedule the date which is a load of baloney. Nobody wants to see this fight. Its pointless and fighting on a Mexican holiday that Mexicans barely celebrate hardly justifies it.

They make the rules up as they go along. Its highly doubtful he'll end up being stripped.

If Vanes has been in the gym this whole time, then he can compete to a certain extent.
    Golovkin late stoppage or UD.

I’m saying It’s hard to get a fight made with a top opponent on 4 weeks notice. They should’ve just canceled the date and reschedule a fight with Saunders for summer.

Dropped & SD'd Andrade, was good enough for Lara twice, fought Charlo.. I have no problem with this as a stand in last minute guy.
