http://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_/...s-trainer-freddie-roach-fight-lucas-matthysse The partnership is over (sniff). Would Manny have reached the heights he attained in boxing without Roach?
Don't like this at all. Manny could be in very deep waters against Matthysse going it alone. Buboy ain't no damn trainer. And I doubt that he possesses knowledge of the fight game that an elite trainer does, nevermind trying to come up with a game plan. Pacquiao should hire Robert Garcia. Hell, even Virgil Hunter.
Sadly Pacquaio has turned out to not be the man I thought he was. To fire Freddie Roach the way he has shows me he has no class. Its similar to the way Bernard Hopkins treated Bouie Fisher Without Bouie would B Hop ever have made it ??? Where would Pac be if he hadn't had Freddie?? Seems there is no loyalty in the game. Can you imagine Ali treating Angelo that way ?? NO!! I;m done with Pac
Good point about Bouie. Boxing is a cutthroat industry from top to bottom. Ruthless and predatory and fickle fans to boot.
Their ain’t no smoke without fire. I wouldn’t jump all over Pac yet, who knows what really went on behind the scene with those two. Maybe one day it’ll come out. Manny never seemed like the cold type, always came across a loyal and generous kinda guy. Seems outta character.
I met Bernard & Bouie back at a Tyson fight I think it was Seldon not sure. My friend from Texas Quincy Taylor was on the card defending his WBC middleweight title & getting robbed by Keith Holmes, Don King & Richard Steele Both Nard & Bouie agreed it was a blatant robbery. Chatted to both for ages they seemed like father & son seemed tight together. Id love to know what really happened in their break up . Ive got a sneaky feeling that Richardson was behind it Cannot stand that guy He ruined Tony Margarito's career
This. Pacquiao LET Ariza break camp and go off and work with another fighter (I think it was Khan) for the first Bradley rematch. I can't think of another fighter who would let an important team member break camp for another fighter. Pacquiao also didn't seem to harbor any ill will towards Rios and Margarito. And Ariza, after the Rios fight, Pacquiao hugged him.
Roach was exploiting Manny. Plus what wrinkles did he really add to Manny’s game? Manny is finally starting to wisen up. All this is.
It doesn't matter at this point. PAC will be 40 this year and he's done at the top level. He did Roach a favor.
