If I was Fury's manager I would be careful about a fight vs. Price. Price doesn't offer much reward when beaten but Fury has a shaky chin and Price has a massive right hand during the opening rounds.

 

Fury v Price makes more money than Wilder v Ortiz.

It's a perfect 2nd/3rd fight back depending on how Fury feels he got on during his 1st.

 

Fury will make big money no matter who he fights..................fans can't wait to see what he looks like. Yes, I have read Johnson, but why?

 

3rd comeback fight yes. I wouldn't take Pricey for fight #1 though. Too dangerous for Fury as a comeback straight out of a 3 year pause IMO.

He will make twice as much against Price than Johnson....at the very least.

Price now wouldn't be smart imo.
Only way for him to look good against Price in the eyes of the casuals (who he has to get behind him for a massive payday against Joshi in the future) would be brutally knocking him out without much fuzz.
It's not very likely Price would beat him as he would gas out eventually, but it is likely he can stagger and/or drop Fury in the early rounds, certainly due to Fury's ringrust.

So, a fellow overweight and certainly past it Johnson would be the way to go.

 

We dont know anything about the "new" Fury yet. I have seen recent clips where he is gasping for air after throwing 2 punches...

 

Johnson absolutely destroyed the former world title challenger, Francesco "The Italian Stallion" Pianeta. Very risky fight for Fury.

 

All these names are being mentioned that just aren't realistic for a first fight back. It'll be some random bloke no-one has ever heard of.

I assume it'll be like this:
Fight 1 (June 2018): Random piece of garbage
Fight 2 (August 2018?): Better random piece of garbage
Fight 3 (October 2018?): Average Journeyman
Fight 4 (December 2018?): Better Journeyman
Fight 5 (March 2019?): Decent world level opponent (Price, Chisora, Takam)
Fight 6 (July 2019?): Another world level opponent, possibly a former world title challenger/winner
Fight 7 (November 2019?): Fight for world title (Probably still Joshua by then)

That schedule would make the most sense. Don't rush him and don't expect it to be one of those names you mentioned for a first fight back. Not happening.

 

Oh, I totally forgot about that.

 

Hearn will be looking to get Fury in with Joshua before he has the comfort of a build up like that.

That looks very persuasive. I just wonder what happens around fight 5 and after?

These next four fights will be as risk free as HW boxing gets. Once he's finished terrorising the nightclub bouncers and bin men of the boxing world however the risk starts to rise. Warren and fury are making much of Fury being the 'man who beat the man' and indeed are trying to leverage that into him being the true hw champion.

Whatever your opinions on whether that status is deserved, it may be enough to give Fury additional value in the eventual negotiations. It could be a difference of millions if Hearn is able to promote the fight as the ultimate unification and the last step in AJs journey to greatness.

So even after he lost the belts, the PED case, the ring belt, Tyson Fury has one last card to play. Does he even risk it against a Chisora level fighter? If he's serious about beating AJ he has to step up in class before he faces him, if he just wants to cash out I wonder if he'll face anyone dangerous before the AJ fight.
