I keep hearing "if parker got 35 then surely wilder deserves more" But joshua only had 2 belts to parkers 1 He now has 3 to wilders 1 So why the **** wilder "deserve" more?
Both undefeated champs and the fight should generate more $…and it’s the biggest fight in division for both fighters…why try to justify an obvious duck?, just be reasonable and make the fight. AJ’s the favorite and no one is contesting the larger purse…keep it real and make it happen.
It's interesting that there's an assumption that because the total take is likely to be bigger that Wilder therefore deserves a bigger percentage share? I don't think that follows. In this instance for example, a lot of the additional money will be coming in because AJ has now unified 3 of the 4 belts and is pushing for an historic unification of all 4 major titles. The more relevant question is how much of the revenue is brought by each fighter.
He doesn't deserve more unless it can be proven he can generate more interest/money for the fight than Parker. I'd actually argue that Parker deserved more, but then I like to support humble/good guys in boxing who work their way up the hard way over self-entitled loudmouths.
This. My honest opinion is if wilder keeps demanding silly money then joshua should just do his mandatories until someone gets that belt off Wilder. In the meantime just troll wilder Fight povetkin then offer wilder 10 mil and tell him it'll ve an offer of 8 next time.
Do we seriously need 20 threads a day on how much money other ppl. should earn? Why do you care? Are you getting a percentage? Common sense say Wilder is much bigger, more recognized and longer reigning champ than Parker, and brings American money and network to the table, so sure, he deserves more. But not half. Also not Hearn's "we don't really want to fight" flat money. Parties should negotiate and that's that, who cares who gets what, make the fight, cause that's what matters.
It shouldn't be a case of who deserves what. Look at the opportunity value. Wilder turning down $12.5m (plus 2 to 3 times more in the rematch) to fight for the undisputed heavyweight crown is absolutely bonkers! If he wins, he's The Man and has all the riches and privileges that go with it. I understand negotiating to try and get a better deal, but walking away would be total madness. Hearn is looking after his man, because this is a fight where there is a real threat of losing. That's the reality of it.
No he doesn't deserve less, but he's been offered double what Parker got according to Hearn so it's clear he isn't going to get less than Parker as the first offer is already substantially more than what Parker got. Does he deserve a bigger percentage of the split? No not really but that's the beauty of paying a percentage, if the fight is bigger than Joshua/Parker then Wilder will get more if he gets the same split. Wilder shouldn't accept the flat fee offer, he deserves a split of the total revenue as a title holder just like Parker did. We don't know what split Parker got in reality the numbers being bandied about in the media are probably not correct if Parker only made $6.25 mill or less as Hearn has stated. He likely got 20-25% and whatever he did get Wilder deserves the same.
Wilder deserves more than Parker. No doubt. He brings alot more fans, the green WBC belt and the hype will be much more marketable than what we saw with humble Parker.
Yes, Wilder deserves more than a guy who arguably lost three of his last four. And nobody thinks Parker deserves more.
Boxing credentials really has nothing to do with what each fighter deserves. We're talking purely money here, so you only need to look at this from a business perspective. I don't know what each fighter will bring to the table in terms of revenue, and what extra will get brought because of the actual matchup. I'm sure Hearn and his team are crunching the numbers with where the revenue streams are coming from and why. Look at this like two production companies wanting to make a co-production. One of the companies is small, while the other is a Hollywood studio. The small company is providing the script, but the big company is providing the talent and money.
Apparently yes because Wilder is guna be bringing alot more to the table than Parker because he is going to get America right behind him and everybody is going to pay their PPV money, even though they dont like to watch him for free at peak times. So just forget that they had to give tickets away to his last and only meaningful fight of his career, just forget he doesnt do big numbers at primetime hours on free TV and that his biggest ever earn is 2.1 and that he will be fighting in the afternoon and charging people PPV money to watch him. This is a hundred million Dollar fight and AJ does around 45-50 so out of the blue with no hint that he could ever do it before but Wilder is a massive star apparently and is bringing at least 50 million dollars to this fight. Lol. Truth is he does deserve a bit more than Parker, he has been offered double which is about 7 or 8 times his biggest payday too. The offer is a fair amount of money.
