BetFair. They're printing money, basically.

Forget his 33% kayo rate and the fact that Broner has never been stopped, and consider the following:

    1. Broner popping clean power shots like Scooby-snacks, or like Mulder emptying a sunflower-seed bag down his throat - eating 44% of those dished out by Mikey (who might be a vastly superior fighter to Vargas p4p, but isn't a natural welterweight like him)
    2. iron-chinned Bradley shook AF just before the final bell, himself later admitting he mightn't have lasted if there was more time on the clock.
    3. since he quit being a weight bully and has since fought mostly natural light welters & larger, Broner's own KO rate has plummeted, and the wear and tear has racked up as he underwent 12-round wars against strong, rough, physical opponents like Molina, Taylor, Porter and Maidana - the latter two giving him frightful beatings.
    4. Sadam Ali getting brutalized and cherry-popped.
    5. all of Broner's outside the ring troubles, even more than usual piling up - plus he just switched to a new coach (Kevin Cunningham) and is going into a tough fight with a guy hungry for a big victory without any tuneups in order to work out the kinks.
    6. Jessie has now used the Joya Herrera fight - a dominant shutout performance with a knockdown - to shake off rust and settle into his dynamic with his own new trainer Mike "The Bodysnatcher" McCallum, an expert at breaking down and stopping quick, slick & flashy guys.

The only worry is the catchweight but Vargas could probably still make the light welter limit comfortably, in all honesty - at least more comfortably than Broner himself. :deal:

Broner to be the one doling out a KO is actually much shorter odds, 7/5. :risas3:

I don't even like Vargas (think he's a very protected guy and judges' darling) but FFS, come on...

He was dropped by Omotoso, who's packing nukes in his fists, and Manny freaking Pacquiao. Broner is the smaller guy, with shorter reach, and more hittable - and IMO the far less heavy-handed when fighting guys his own size and not boiling down to bully feathers. The only thing he really has going for him is speed, but timing beats that and Vargas is pretty accurate for a volume puncher. :deal:

Vargas will beat Broner - don't rate Broner at all

I don't think Vargas will stop Broner, and that would result in another controversional decision in his favor (which I expect).
People talk about Danny Garcia, but Broner could very well have been 30-6 or even 29-7 now if judges didn't score in his favor all the time.

Broners biggest mistake was trying to become a Welterweight when it was the lucrative division. Jumping up too soon even though he won a World Title, a confident, unbeaten Broner could have dominated at 135-140. Take away a mans invincibility and hes not half the fighter.

No dedication and commitment to boxing ruined this man. He was talented though and i dont think he was ever a Welterweight.

I would be surprised if this fight ended in a T/KO.

I'm picking Vargas. I feel and fear though if it's close, which I do think it ultimately will be at least competitive, that Broner will get the judges nod... For what it's worth, I do seem to have always thought slightly higher of Vargas than most. I feel he gets too much heat for his shortcomings and not enough credit when due. Totally good fighter, solid at everything, just not too great at anything.

I too remember watching the Omotoso and being like holy **** this guys such a bum but Vargas gained a lot of respect in my eyes after the Tim Bradley fight who was twice the fighter Broner will ever be. He should take care of Broner unless if this new trainer somehow made him see the light.

Can’t see it. Broner is tough as nails I don’t think Vargas can come close to stopping him unless AB loses his head and quits.

Broner should win this IMO. I hope it’s emphatic but I think he may end up getting a very controversial decision.

Some became twice the fighter once their invincibility was taken away. Broner's just weak in the head/not good enough.

I dont mean just taking a loss. im talking about fighters who have that aura of invincibility. I cant think of any invincible fighter who came back stronger.

Marco Antonio Barrera jumps straight off the top of the head. He had a much firmer aura about him than AB ever did, was touted as the reincarnation of Chavez prior to his defeats to Poison Junior Jones.

Sadam Ali would have been clubbered by Maidana just saying. I know Vargas is a power puncher after hiring Memo but Broner should be too durable

Nice bet but risky, the fight going to decision is -400 I like them odds better (I think that's easy money)
